Ocean Bento Lunch Ideas + Pearl Oyster Cereal Treats
Lunch is served! Welcome back-to-school, parents. As a busy mom to a 2nd grader, I really enjoy making sure that my little learner feels special and missed when he leaves home for 8 hours everyday. He’s always been a “lunch from home kid,” so joining the creative bento lunch bandwagon was an easy choice for me. But this is NOT just an ordinary back-to-school lunch post. If you’re looking for great bento lunch ideas, look no further. Come see all of the great Ocean Bento Lunch Ideas (+ 9 more bento boxes!) and grab your recipe for FUN Pearl Oyster Cereal Treats!
Ocean Bento Lunch Ideas
I find that every great bento lunch starts with a theme. With my little guy LOVING anything animals, this ocean themed bento lunch was a no-brainer. Check out how I made this easy lunchbox.
- Whale Sandwich
How adorable is this little guy? A whale of a sandwich on a bed of blueberries for the sea, this little ocean friend is a great way to greet lunchtime. I added a little shredded cheese for the water spout too.
- Under the Sea Veggie Medley
Need some motivation to get your kids to eat more veggies? (Don’t we all?) Using the under the sea theme, these veggies definitely take on a FUN and colorful addition to your child’s lunch by shaping into seaweed or coral. Add a little peek-a-boo friend and done!
- Crunchy Fish Crackers
My kids always look for the “crunchy” item in their lunchbox. Add some cheesy fish crackers for a quick ocean themed addition.
- Pearl Oyster Cereal Treats
It’s not a lunch without the sweet treat for the end of the meal! These Pearl Oyster Cereal Treats are a perfect way to end a fabulous ocean themed lunch – with a bright burst of happy color.
So of course, I used Fruity Pebbles Cereal to make sure that this ocean bento lunchbox was extra special. Here’s how I made these adorable treats:
Pearl Oyster Cereal Treats
- 1 1/2 TBSP butter
- 2 1/4 cups mini marshmallows divided
- 3 cups Fruity Pebbles Cereal
- Strawberry yogurt
- Cooking Spray
- Spray large pot with cooking spray. Melt butter over low heat.
- Add marshmallows, stir constantly until completely melted.
- Add cereal. Turn off stove. Stir constantly until completely coated.
- Press into small pie plate. Allow to cool completely
- Use cookie cutter to cut out oyster shapes.
- Spread a small amount of yogurt on the top of the bottom oyster shell. Add the "pearl" marshmallow.
- Add another oyster shell to the top, pressing the ends together gently.
