11 Laundry Hacks for Busy Moms

School. Chaos. Sounds like a familiar combo, right? Mom, you are amazing and busier than ever now that school is here. The days get shorter and your precious time is spent more in front of the washer and dryer than on your couch. I am so with you.

So here to the rescue are 11 Laundry Hacks for Busy Moms, because we all can use a little more “me time” and a little less chaos. Genius, I tell you. Why I didn’t have these hacks back when I had my first child….I blame sleep deprivation. But time is literally of the essence these days between school runs and soccer practice and homework and grocery shopping and work…and oh yes, a very active 2 year old.

Laundry is not my best friend, but I certainly spend so much of my day hanging out with my pals Washer and Dryer. With these genius laundry hacks list, we can focus our time and efforts so much better. So take a “load” off (pun definitely intended) as I make your laundry days a little brighter.

Dry Your Clothes Faster

In a rush to finish your load of laundry? Aren’t we all? Dry your clothes in the dryer much faster by adding a clean and dry fluffy towel (you know, the most absorbent one in the house) to your wash. The towel will help soak in the moisture faster so you need less drying time!

Clean Your Washer

With all of the dirty that goes into your washer, we seldom think of how your machine needs a little cleaning TLC too. Clean your washer easily by adding 2 cups of vinegar to your wash cycle and letting it run through. Instant clean!

Get Out Greasy Stains

Don’t throw away those sidewalk chalk nubs! Remove greasy and buttery stains by rubbing chalk into your fabric before throwing in the wash. The chalk helps to absorb the oils!

Save on Dryer Sheets

Ran out of dryer sheets in the middle of a load again? That’s ok! Just take a strip of a clean sponge and soak in fabric softener. Toss into your dryer with your load for a reusable dryer sheet that only costs you pennies!

Keep a Bin Handy

I’m always losing pairs of socks. And with a busy schedule, I don’t have time to go hunting! Keep a small bin beside your dryer to hold missing friends until you wash the next pair. Then just pair up when you find them.

Repurpose Pair-less Socks

Still can’t find that sock pair? Don’t toss it! Repurpose your old sock into this DIY Heating Pad! With the fall and winter seasons upon us, this heating pad will be perfect for aches, pains and a little extra warmth!

Save Used Dryer Sheets

If you love using dryer sheets, don’t throw them away when they’re done! Use them for dusting, picking out lint from the lint trap or even lining your laundry hamper for a fresher smell. My littlest helper loves dusting around the house with me (BONUS, right?).

Clean More Than Laundry

Your BFF’s washer and dryer are not just for clothes! Give your hard plastic toys a good washing too! Just place them inside of a washable mesh bag and let the good times roll (or spin).

Forgotten Wrinkly Clothes? Not a Problem!

I cannot tell you how many times I have left a forgotten load of laundry in the dryer. Overnight. For a week. Yes it happens. And the wrinkles…unbearable! But to avoid “throwing in the towel” (like the pun?) you can save your nicely washed load! Just run a washcloth under the faucet and toss into your load. Then let your dryer run for about 30-50 minutes to release the wrinkles.

Prevent Dryer Fires

Not kidding. Even when I think I got all of the dryer lint out of the trap (assuming I remember) there is definitely more lint trapped below. The last thing I want is a fire in my house. Not cool. So keep an old wire hanger or used wire brush nearby to capture the excess lint. Bonus, no dusty fingers!

No More Messy Measuring

Measuring laundry detergent is one of my least favorite parts of the laundry chore. Anyone else hate waiting for the bottom of the container to drip into the sticky and messy cap? Me, me, me! Say goodbye to messy measuring with ARM & HAMMER™ plus OxiClean™ Power PAKS. All of the cleaning power you want for school clothes (goodbye germs!) and all of the hassle you don’t want (no more sticky caps!), you can now spend less time in front of your washer and dryer.

Mom hacks for laundry

Arm & Hammer understands how precious mom’s time is. These PAKS make it easy to get your chores done quickly and efficiently! Just grab a Pak, toss into your washer, and then add your clothes for a deep down clean with OxiClean™ power! YES!

Grass stains be gone! Bye bye spaghetti splatter! No more slaving over stain removal. No more squinty eyed measuring. No sticky laundry detergent mess to clean up. And with each load costing 50% less than other leading single use brands, the money savings add up too.

The best part? With these laundry hacks, you can take your precious mom time and focus on more important things, like your family! School. Chaos. But you won’t find this mom stressing over laundry. I’ve got my laundry hacks to the rescue.
