How To Potty Train This Summer with Pampers Easy Ups
It’s one of my “Mommy Moments” I am MOST proud of. My son was fully potty trained by age 2. Yes, that’s despite all of the nay-sayers that claimed boys are the most difficult ones to potty train. Cabbage Patch Dance commencing!
And the time is finally upon us. My little almost 17 month old baby girl will begin her potty training journey this summer. With no school schedules and a relaxed atmosphere, now is a GREAT time to start great habits! Want to know how I’ll be potty training this summer? I have a few of my BEST tips that worked for my son!
1. Pull Out the Potty Early
Parents, feel free to pull out that potty now. Give your kids time to explore, discover, even use the potty the wrong way! Let them know that the potty is nothing to be afraid of.
2. Be on Watch for Those Signs of Readiness
Does your little one love to watch everyone else go potty?
Do they run to a certain “pooping spot?”
Do they notice when their diaper gets wet?
Are they trying to pull off their diaper when they go?
Be sure to look for your child’s tale-tell signs that they’re ready to potty train! My daughter has already started showing interest. At a bright 16 months of age, she loves to “help” flush the toilet and hand out toilet paper (even when it’s NOT potty time)!
3. Have the Right Potty Training Tools
No doubt, when it comes to potty training, you need to be armed with the right tools! Besides a potty chair, having great training pants can ease the transition from diapers to underwear. We have a stock of Pampers Easy Ups on hand and ready for potty training action! What makes Pampers Easy Ups great for potty training?
- Outstanding Leak Protection – even overnight – so we can have nonstop summer fun!
- An Absorbent Core that holds up to 25% more than the other leading training pant
- A Soft Underwear-like look and feel
- FUN prints and graphics that your toddler will love to wear
4. Use a Method and Stick to It + Don’t Forget to PARTY!
Every child is different and only you know what will work best. Let them know that you are serious about potty training and aren’t willing to budge or cave. But also don’t forget to praise EVERY time that they go potty! My son and I had our own potty dance with clapping and booty shaking. When we finally graduated to full on potty trained boy, I let him pick out his next set of underwear and got him a small prize 🙂 Achievements and milestones like these should be celebrated!
5. Take time out to enjoy summer!
Don’t let potty training rule the day. Make sure to take time to get those kids outside and enjoy the summer too! Potty training doesn’t have to be stressful during the summer months. Have FUN and allow both of you relax, smile, and love!
