Frozen Fever Inspired Chex Mix Recipe

Those adorable little bundles of snow inspired our latest kids in the kitchen fun, with this all new Frozen Fever Inspired Chex Mix Recipe! Kids, Disney Frozen magic and homemade Chex Party Mix are always a good combination for family fun! So how do you bring those adorable mini Frozen Fever snowgies into your family snack time? The secret is in those little smiling faces!
Ingredients
- 9 cups of your favorite Chex cereal
- 1 cup of chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup of peanut butter
- 1/4 cup of butter
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups of yellow, blue & green chocolate candies
- 2 cups of mini marshmallows
- Blue or black food coloring
Every delicious homemade Chex Party Mix recipe begins with delicious Chex cereal! Oven toasted crispy squares are the perfect little bites for snacking! Now to add the sweet goodness!
Directions
1. In large bowl, measure cereal; set aside.
2. In 1-quart microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter uncovered on High 1 minute; stir. Microwave about 30 seconds longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth. Stir in vanilla. Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated. Pour into 2-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag. Add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well coated. Spread on waxed paper to cool.
3. And ready for the Disney magic? Time to make those adorable mini snowmen! While cooling, pour a few drops of food coloring into small bowl. Using a toothpick, create 2 eyes and a mouth on each mini marshmallow. Allow to dry. Add to mixture.
4. Add colored chocolate candies to mixture. Combine and serve. Store in airtight container.

We always make a big batch at Christmas and sometimes at Easter. I like it with pretzels and M&M’s and held together like bark with melted white chocolate – so good!! I would make it more often, but tend to eat it until I make myself sick, so it’s best if I only do that a few times per year.
