Elmo Ornament Kids Craft

My husband took down the Christmas boxes from our attic this week. I know, crazy. I turn around and POOF the holidays are here. Even more than that, my toddler has already started singing the songs. You know….the ones that are stuck in your head but you’re only a toddler so you just sing the one line that you know over and Over and OVER.

It’s a good thing that I adore my little one’s off-key singing voice.

But not to diminish her excitement for the season (I mean it’s probably the first Christmas she will actually remember this year!), we have started the Christmas crafting. And when you combine one of my child’s favorite characters and Christmas….you get holiday toddler bliss. This easy Elmo Ornament Kids Craft combines a fun activity and a frugal ornament craft (under a dollar, yo!) in one afternoon of holiday excitement. So grab your jingle bells and your favorite Elmo toy for an afternoon of kid friendly ornament crafting!

Elmo Christmas ornament

What You Will Need:

  • Plastic fillable ornament
  • Red filler craft items: What a great time to learn more about the color red with your child! Ribbon, pom-poms, tissue paper, fabric, etc. all make great stuffers for your ornament and your little one will love being the one to stuff it!
  • 1 large orange pom-pom
  • 2 large googly eyes
  • Glue

Directions:

  1. Help your child fill the ornament with assorted red treasures from around the home. Let your child take the lead as you scavenger hunt for the items! We found stickers a fabric and tissue paper and even brother’s blocks…. 🙂
  2. Replace the lid to the ornament. Glue on the orange pom-pom nose and 2 large googly eyes. Allow to dry Elmo ornament DIY
  3. When dry, let your child hang their ornament for the world to see!

This is the cutest ornament ever, and I love that it could be a keepsake that you make with and for your child as a young one then keep it to put on tree years later. I just love making memories.

Thanks so much for sharing Elmo Ornament Kids Craft with all of us! This is really a cute craft to do! In our School District, the kids make a Christmas Ornament every year. I have all of them and keep them nice and wrapped and kept nice from one year to the next! I hang them all on the tree every year! It’s nice for the kids to see them on the tree and remember how they made them! Maybe this year we’ll make an Elmo too! Thanks again for sharing your Elmo Ornament Kids Craft with all of us! I honestly do appreciate it! Thanks again! Michele 🙂
