Bacon Roll Up Appetizer Recipe

I have to tell you, some of the BEST recipes ever come from our grandparents. This Bacon Appetizer Recipe is no exception. You’re going to look at my ingredients list and think I’m nuts. But I promise, this recipe has lasted through 3 generations now, and is one of the most beloved in my husband’s family.

From football games to holiday get togethers, this recipe continues to wow guests year after year. You can ask my husband. He’s nuts about these. And lucky you, I’m sharing today and passing on “Gram’s” legacy with another one of Gram’s recipes! Easy to make and even easier to please big crowds on a budget, this appetizer idea is the BEST!

Bacon Roll Up Appetizer Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 package of bacon, strips cut in halves
  • 1 can of cream of chicken soup
  • 1 package of white bread, crusts cut off, cut into halves
  • toothpicks

Directions:

  1. Make bacon rolls in this order. Lay one slice of bacon (cut in half). Lay a piece of bread on top. Spread a thin layer of cream of chicken on the bread.
  2. Roll up so bacon is on the outside. Secure with toothpick
  3. Broil on cookie sheet for 7-10 minutes or until bacon is crisp, turning once between cooking.

Makes about 20-30 appetizers (depending on # of bacon/bread strips)

And that’s it. I know, the combo sounds weird. But seriously, bacon makes anything taste good! So thanks to Gram, my husband’s grandmother for this recipe. While no longer with us, I’d like to think she’s smiling down on me sharing this 🙂
