Homemade Finger Paint for Toddlers | Earth Day Upcycle Craft

Ok, so this was a happy accident. I was busy making my paleo popsicles and realized that I could make this fun homemade finger paint for toddlers, perfect for my baby girl! Edible, easy to make and gluten-free, this paint is perfect for an afternoon of messy fun! Check out how you can make this easy DIY and upcycle craft just in time for Earth Day!

K-cup upcycle craftWhat You Will Need:

  • Leftover Coconut Milk (the fatty stuff)
  • Food Coloring
  • Used Empty K-Cups

Homemade finger paint

Directions:

Upcycle k cup

1. Remove the foil lid of the K-Cups and empty out the contents (don’t forget the filter and the plastic circle on the inside). Push down the hole from your Keurig at the bottom of the cup or place a little bit of tape/Saran wrap at the bottom so your paint doesn’t leak out.

2. Place a little portion fatty content of your coconut milk (the creamy stuff BEFORE you shake the can) inside each K-Cup. Add food coloring to each cup. Mix until desired color is achieved.

4. Let ’em have it! Let your kids enjoy dipping, splattering, painting (and hey even eating) their paint! My daughter was so thrilled with her hard work. And I was happy to be able to reuse my old K-cups for her happy mess.

My little guy is a bit young but he would enjoy the finger paints! Looks easy enough to do – maybe this summer we will give it a try.
