Fishing Dessert Idea
19 school days to go and my 7 year old son keeps asking me to go fishing. If you haven’t guessed yet, he’s DONE with this school year. I feel his pain; it’s been a long First Grade season. But with a few more weeks to go (our school year ends in June. Doesn’t that just seem wrong?), I wanted to cheer up my son’s end-of-the-school-year blues with a fun summer dessert idea.
A sweet and gluten free treat to show my son how proud I am of his accomplishments (um hello – he read over 385,000 words this year!), it was the least I could do for my star kid. This Fishing Dessert Idea is perfect for your little fisher, next fishing party, or just to give a fun summer treat to your kids! Grab your fishing poles, because this snack is sure to hook some smiles.
My Proud Momma Moment
I couldn’t be more proud of my son this year. His reading is through the roof with one of the highest amount of words read in his class. He’s tested at a second grade level in both reading and math (all year long, I may add). He won the Citizenship award his first month in school. Even small things like his handwriting, coloring and creativity is much improved. I have so much to be thankful for in my super smart kid – he’s had amazing First Grade memories. But I could definitely tell he was in the slump of the last few weeks of school.
How do we cheer this little fisherman up? A little sweet treat.
