Finding Dory Hair Bow DIY
I couldn’t help it. I just had to get in one more crafty Finding Dory post before I leave for the Finding Dory Red Carpet. Just humor me, because this is probably one of the cutest DIYs to date. Make your very own no-sew Finding Dory Hair Bow for your adorable little one this summer because these bows deserve all of the “aw” in the world. Seriously. Only a few minutes and a couple of crafty items make this the cutest ribbon fish hair bow ever. Finding Dory approved.
This hair bow will have your kids saying “I’m a natural blue” too.
I have been seeing Finding Dory inspiration everywhere. Parties. Quotes. Even blue and yellow are the “in” fashion colors of the season. And when See Vanessa Craft made these DIY Finding Dory Headbands earlier this year, I knew that my girl NEEDED to have a Finding Dory hair bow. Ready to make the most adorable fishy hair bow under the sea (and above) in a few minutes? Here’s how:
What You Will Need:
- Blue Ribbon – about 1.5 inches wide
- Yellow Ribbon – about 7/8 inch wide
- Black Ribbon – about 1/8 inch wide
- White Nautical Rope for crafting
- Hot Glue – lots of it
- Barrette, Hair Clip or Bobby Pin
Directions:
Cut equal lengths of the blue and yellow ribbon – I did about 6 inches each. Place the yellow ribbon (isn’t it cute with the zig-zag design? Looks like fish scales!) on top of the blue ribbon and use a little dot of glue to hold in place.
You’re going to fold the ribbons over like so. (If using satin ribbon, satin side up!). Then cross the bottoms to make your fish tails.
Then pinch in the middle.
Bring over your white rope and wrap it around where you pinched.
Give it a single knot in the back, pulling tightly. Cut off the excess and hot glue the ends so it doesn’t come undone. Turn over.
Already looking super cute – Hello, Dory! – we’re now going to finish the look with a little black bow. Just tie the bow, cut off the excess and glue on top of the rope. Allow everything to dry.
Now decide what you want to place the bow on. It can be as simple as threading through a bobby pin or easy as hot gluing on top of a hair clip/barrette. Either way, you have the cutest accessory for the newest Finding Dory movie!
BAM! Instant cuteness.
