Spring is tricky here in Florida. I have one foot in the few glorious weeks of humidity free perfection – around 60-70 degrees. But then I have the other foot drenched in sweat, heat and grossness – aka we hit 90 degrees this past week.

But spring wardrobe shopping is calling my name. And therefore I go shopping. I’ve picked up the most adorable Denim Shirt for the new season, and love how versatile it is for my everyday mom wardrobe. I have certain criteria for any new clothing to enter my wardrobe. I live in Florida, therefore the fabric MUST breathe. It must be washable – aka if you cannot survive my washer and dryer, you must go. It has to be durable. Hey, I’m a busy mom with lots of errands, movements, spills and disasters. It has to be versatile. I like to get the most bang for my buck when I introduce a new piece to my collection. So it has to fit in with multiple looks.

So when I was introduced to Orvis, I instantly fell in love with this Chambray shirt. It’s lightweight. It’s feminine. It’s classic. It’s as tough as I am, ready to handle all of my life’s adventures. It’s inspired by the outdoors – perfect for a day out in Florida! I knew I had found a winner.

So right away I tore apart my closet (No, seriously. My husband just about lost it!) and got to outfit pairing. And I found these 9 adorable ways to wear a Chambray shirt for spring. Perfect ideas for busy moms, I’ve got a denim shirt look for every possible mom moment.

Shorts

It’s a Florida staple. I bet half of my bottoms consist of shorts. And for spring, I’ve pulled out my pale yellow shorts to pair with my new Orvis piece. Simple and classic.

Skirt

I put on a skirt and I instantly seem to move from yoga pants mom to a member of society. Paired with this super pretty and soft Handwoven Bamboo Infinity Scarf (also Orvis!), pulled-up hair and some statement earrings, I’m taking the day by storm.

Belted

If you have a cute spring dress, you have to try this belted look. I love how you can dress it up with some snazzy heels or dress it down with some thin strap sandals. Plus, it will keep you warm on those cooler spring nights.

Weekend

I get it, mom. There are days when I want to go to the grocery store in my pajamas too. I’m telling you, this is basically the next best thing. A soft jersey cotton dress with the denim shirt over top is so unbelievably comfortable. Then add your favorite tennis shoes so you can get your errands done in a flash.

Florals

It seems that spring flowers are back this season! I love this floral A-line skirt paired with the denim shirt. So cheery!

Work

Unlike the blogger that sits at home in her pajamas all day (who, me?), there are days when I need to enter the professional work realm…but still feel like me. So I paired this denim shirt with a fierce fitted blazer, cropped khaki pants, a statement necklace and some peep toe flats. I’m super blogger now!

Knotted

Yes, knotted is still a thing and not just a prodigy of the 80s! I actually really love knotting denim when you pair with a maxi dress. Doesn’t this say beach living? Just hand me a drink and a teeny umbrella!

Denim on Denim

If you would have asked me years ago if I would have ever done this look, I would have thought you were crazy. Denim on Denim seemed so unnatural, especially with 2 denims that didn’t match! But when paired with a bright orange belt and adorable yellow heels, the mix of denim and primary coloring is perfection.

Evening

I had to save the best for last, right? When you finally get a date night out, this is your outfit! A smart and sassy lace pencil skirt (from HERE), statement necklace, and HEELS. Yes, those are at least 4 inches 🙂 Paired with this clutch (my aunt has amazing taste in purses!), I am ready to step out on the town!
