23 Things Only Short Moms Understand
I’m 5 feet and 1.5 inches tall…on a good day. I am officially a short mom. And with my privileged short mom card, I am here this Monday with a little humor to start off your week. 23 Things Only Short Moms Understand is my laugh at why being a short mom is basically awesome.
So sit back, enjoy this list and give your chance to smile over your cup of coffee.
1. Finding a pair of jeans in curvy short sizes is like hunting for a mythical unicorn

4. Until your kids become taller than you
5. Your feet become more effective at clean up time than your hands
6. The word petite is just a polite way of saying that I look like a fat munchkin

8. You cannot be found when you’re pushing a stroller
9. You get carded more (ok, maybe that’s not a bad thing)

11. You’re asked if you’re the kids’ sitter
12. People feel for you more when you tell them your pregnancy and birth stories
13. It’s easier to hide behind a person at the PTA meeting
14. But harder to see your child on stage at a play (have they invented mom booster seats yet?)
15. Grabbing your child’s favorite snack at the store requires you to climb Mount Everest
16. Your kids have trouble picking you out at the soccer game
17. You gladly defer to your husband for reaching anything over 5 feet tall

I’m 5’3 and I definitely feel your struggles. I am glad my daughter is taking after the husband and will most likely be in the 5’6+ range.

I’m only 4’10”. My boyfriend is 5’11”. He loves it. I hate it. His son from a previous marriage is 8 and is taller than me. He gets a kick out of that too.
