With the holidays just around the corner, I know that many a parent is searching for that perfect big ticket item for their child. One of the first toys that come to mind are those toy kitchen play sets. But what kitchen play set is right for you and your toddler? I’m not sure who was more excited to receive the brand new Step2 Mixin’ Up Magic Kitchen, my 22 month old daughter or me. Just released this fall 2014, this ultimate kitchen play set is the perfect toy for a parent like me. Quality from a brand name that I trust, durable, easy to clean, long lasting use and definitely getting your money’s worth, it’s no wonder that play kitchens have been the iconic toy for young children for many years.

1. Space

Worried about kids fighting over counter space in your kitchen? Well, there’s plenty of play room in the Mixin’ Up Magic Kitchen. This deluxe sized play area is 51 inches long and includes enough work room for your busy little cooks.

The wide layout allows for plenty of interaction and fun in each area of the kitchen. Microwave, Oven, Sink, Refrigerator, Freezer, Coffee Maker, Prep Stations and more, juts like Mommy’s kitchen are all spaced out in your Step2 Kitchen play set. Plenty of elbow room for mixin’ up some fun!

2. Storage

This kitchen has more storage space than mine! Open and close cabinets, a full size refrigerator, pull out drawers, oven, microwave, and even 5 hanging hooks, there’s plenty of storage for all of the delicious play food, dishes and more in this kitchen. I love how everything is easily accessible

3. LOTS of Accessories

I think for more parents, it gets quite stressful to not only buy the big ticket item, but then to buy the accessories to make the gift play time worthy. With the Mixin’ Up Magic Kitchen, there’s no need to worry. Included with your kitchen play set are 45 accessories from cups and bowls to serving spoons and coffee pot. Each piece carefully selected by Step2, I really love how much thought and effort goes into the “little things.” My daughter cannot get enough using her phone while stirring her pot on the stove. She’s my little multi-tasker!

4. The Magic

Wondering where the “magic” comes into play time with the new Mixin’ Up Magic Kitchen? The 2 stove top burners are where the action happens! Specialized pot, pan, blender and popcorn popper magically come to life when placed on the Step2 Mixin’ Up Magic Kitchen battery operated burners. Your kids will giggle with delight when the popcorn popper actually “pops” with excitement. Fry up some bacon or boil a pot of pasta. How about blending up some magic? My daughter can’t get enough of the sights and sounds! Definitely the most fun section of the kitchen!

5. The Extra Special Touches

A dog bed with food and water bowls. A recycling bin. Open and close farm shutters. A spinning spice rack. A coffee maker. Step2 really takes the time and effort to make sure that your child has everything that they need in their Mixin’ Up Magic Kitchen. There’s no nook or cranny unused here! It’s in the little details that my daughter keeps finding new and exciting ways to play. Today, she’s feeding her stuffed puppy. Yesterday, she was taking out the trash!

6. Learning Through Play

I think the most important part about the new Mixin’ Up Magic Kitchen is that the kids are having SO much fun, that they forget that they’re learning! My daughter has moved mountains in her learning since the kitchen has arrived in our home. Following directions, learning new vocabulary words, imaginative play, fine tuning those motor skills. There’s just no words for the complete overwhelming joy I get to experience watching her accomplish these small feats. New experiences, discoveries and quality playtime with my daughter, the memories are priceless!
