Delicious menu, CHECK!
Clean house, CHECK!
Set the table, uh-oh!
Thanksgiving is right around the corner and if you’re like me, you’ve been busy planning for delicious memories to share with your loved ones. But with all of the concentration on the Thanksgiving food, it’s easy to forget about the table where everyone is going to gather. You want to make it beautiful for your guests, but don’t want to spend a lot of money. Where to begin? Check out these simple Thanksgiving tablescape ideas on a budget to take the stress out of the decorating for the big day.
Use Existing Pieces in New Ways
Creating a beautiful Thanksgiving table doesn’t have to be grand and costly. Just take a look around your home. This candelabra made a perfect centerpiece for my table after a little bit of dusting. I made a table runner with burlap ribbon I had in my craft stash! Cost so far for our table = $0!
Take Inspiration from Nature
Aren’t the colors of fall amazing? Beautiful pumpkins, gourds, lentils, and maize provide the perfect colorful touch to a table…and inexpensively! Consider picking up a few pops of fall color for your tablescape. I LOVED how these green and white lentils provided the perfect layers for this mason jar candle holder!
Add Sentimental Touches
Are there items that are sentimental to you? Pictures, dishes, and special one-of-a-kind pieces can add the perfect unique touch to your table. And don’t worry about matching; it gives your table some character!
Borrow What You Don’t Have
Not everyone will be hosting a Thanksgiving feast at their house this year. Call up a friend or family member and see what you can borrow to fill in the gaps. I was so fortunate that my friend had some fancy chargers for my dinner plates! It really gave my dinner table a grand look.
Make Food the Star
Most importantly, do not stress about making your table the most beautiful of all tables. Your guests are there to enjoy great company and great food together. Make your food the star of the gathering because happy memories lie in happy tummies.
This year fill those tummies with a twist on mashed potatoes. How delicious are these Cheesy RITZ Potato Balls from the NABISCO Party Planner website? Made with leftover mashed potatoes (you know that there’s always extra!), these golden brown appetizers make the perfect bite for your Thanksgiving Day feast.
Dipped into a sweet and zesty homemade sauce, these little appetizing treats are sure to be a hit at your next holiday gathering. Anyone else running to the kitchen to grab their extra mashed potatoes?
