6 Scooter Games for Kids with Radio Flyer
“It is the LAST summer with my baby girl,” I remind myself. I’m getting choked up just typing out the words. It is the last summer for me to soak up my little 4-year old girl at home with me everyday. Next fall, she will be joining her big brother on yet another big adventure – Pre-K.
But she’s ready. She’s so ready. I am soaking in all of the possible memories as we celebrate our last summer together – baby girl and mommy – with these 6 Scooter Games for Kids. Come see how one scooter became the perfect way to celebrate my baby’s last summer.
Celebrating My Baby’s Last Summer
Monkey see, Monkey do. My preschooler is following in the footsteps of her big brother – her best-est friend in the whole world. These two are inseparable this summer – except when it came to scooters. Big brother got a scooter for Easter and this little girl has been sadly watching from the sidelines ever since.
With summer here, I couldn’t bear to see my baby watching from the sidelines. It’s her last summer at home as my baby. Summer isn’t for sidelines. It’s for playtime. So to celebrate her last summer as “my baby,” we got her this amazing Build-A-Scooter from Radio Flyer.
Her eyes glowed with delight when her custom ride arrived at our door. All pink. Light-up wheels.
Streamers. A little dainty bell.
Storage for all of her treasures. And can this scooter move? ABSOLUTELY.
“Is this for me?!” she asked with eager eyes.
I choked back the tears as I nodded my head yes. And within no time, my baby grew up before my eyes. Her shaky wobbly toddler legs grew sure as she pushed off into a summer of fun, adventure and memories. No longer left behind, this girl is now chasing down her brother with her laughter echoing down our street. Oh, this summer is going to be amazing.
6 Scooter Games for Kids
Radio Flyer celebrates their 100th anniversary this year. And I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than with 100 Days of Summer. Encouraging play, imagination and fun – I know that our Radio Flyer Build-A-Scooter has definitely brought our playtime up a level. So to keep on encouraging summer play this summer, we’ve made a list of some of our favorite Scooter Games for Kids to share with your family, for 100 days of summer and beyond!
Scooter Races
From relay races to speed sprints, kids love when there’s a little friendly competition involved. Add some water balloons, squirt guns and sprinklers for a great water-play combo too.
Scooter Bowling
No bowling ball needed! Set up the pins and let your kids roll on down the lane.
Scooter Obstacle Course
Let those creative minds soar with cones, pool noodles, sidewalk chalk, ramps and more as your kids build their own obstacle courses for their scooters.
Scooter Hide and Seek
Hide and Seek has gotten a makeover when you add scooters to the mix? Let your kids count and scoot their way to their hiding spots!
Scooter Decorating
Pipe cleaners, glow in the dark bracelets, paper streamers and more. Let your kids host their own scooter parade with their fancy décor!
Scooter Imaginative Play
This has to be my favorite part of scooter play. My kids can take anything and make it into a imaginative game. We just have to set the right scenario. Search and rescue. Princesses and monsters. Pet ambulance. Robot repair. Race cars. The list goes on. Give your kids a scene and let them “scoot” with it!
Celebrate 100 Years of Imaginative Play with Radio Flyer
Radio Flyer has been powering childhood adventures since 1917. From those classic red wagons to tricycles to these modern Build-A-Scooters, Radio Flyer continues to bring a child’s imagination to life with 100 years of innovative designs and quality craftsmanship.
Where will Radio Flyer take your kids this summer? To celebrate 100 years, Radio Flyer created their very own kids travel agency. From climbing Mount Puppy to exploring Flipping Pancake Island, Radio Flyer Adventure Travel allowed kids to travel to impossibly wonderful destinations with their very own Radio Flyer transportation. Check out this adorable video to see where kids imagined they were going next! And sorry adults, you only get to go to Tampa.
My baby’s last summer is meant for play, imagination and fun. Who knew that a Radio Flyer scooter could offer so much for a little girl? I didn’t know. But as I watch my little girl scoot down the sidewalk in front of our house – I’m watching summer memories in the making. Sorry while I go watch my daughter save the day for her bunny, again. We did my baby girl’s last summer right. We did.
