Meet Disney Princess Elena of Avalor

Bravo, Disney. I love how much this company embraces diversity. And the newest Disney Princess certainly has stirred much awaited anticipation for multicultural families. Disney Princess Elena of Avalor brings a fiery, fierce and independent Latina princess to the screen. I must admit, I fell in love at first glance at the Disney Social Media Moms Conference. Learn more about why this Disney Princess has captured the hearts of families, behind-the-scenes of the Elena of Avalor music, when to catch the premiere and of course, scroll down for a FUN Elena of Avalor GIVEAWAY!

Meet Disney’s Newest Princess

Set in the enchanted fairytale land of Avalor, the series tells the story of Elena, a brave and adventurous teenager who has saved her kingdom from an evil sorceress. She must now learn to rule as crown princess until she is old enough to be queen. Needing assistance to rule Avalor, Elena enlists the help of the Grand Council, made up of Grandfather Tito, Grandmother Cici and royal adviser Duke Esteban.

Rumors certainly prevail over this new Disney princess – including sneak peeks of movies in production, spin-offs from other shows and a few Disney Easter Eggs.

Princess Elena goes on many adventures – with wizard-in-training Mateo and magical Skylar at her side – that help her understand the traits that make a good leader. Elena’s journey will lead her to understand that her new role requires thoughtfulness, resilience and compassion, the traits of all truly great leaders.

Elena of Avalor Soundtrack

Love Disney music? Me too! The Elena of Avalor Soundtrack is chock full of Disney goodness. The theme song “Elena of Avalor” is performed by Gaby Moreno and Elena’s anthem “My Time” is performed by Aimee Carrero, the voice of Princess Elena. In addition to singing the theme song, Gaby Moreno will also voice a guest role in the series. In addition, the music team for “Elena of Avalor” consists of series creator/executive producer Craig Gerber, songwriter/music director John Kavanaugh (who are also the Emmy Award-winning songwriting team behind Disney’s “Sofia the First”), Emmy Award-nominated composer Tony Morales (“Hatfields & McCoys”) and acclaimed touring musician and Latin music instructor Rene Camacho.

The Disney Elena of Avalor soundtrack songs include:

  1. “Elena of Avalor”
  2. “Ready to Rule”
  3. “Festival of Love”
  4. “Sister Time”
  5. “The Magic Within You”
  6. “My Time” (Bonus Track)
  7. “My Time” (Instrumental)

Elena of Avalor soundtrack will be released July 22nd and will be available at iTunes, Amazon, streaming services and wherever music is sold. For more information on Walt Disney Records’ releases, follow Disney Music on Facebook.com/disneymusic or Twitter.com/disneymusic.
