Gram’s Homemade Biscuits Recipe

There’s something about homemade biscuits, warm right out of the oven. Forget the Bisquik on this one. My husband’s “Gram” made homemade biscuits from scratch, with items you already have in your pantry! And with such an easy recipe, you can incorporate these biscuits in any meal! Bonus: you don’t even need eggs!

Here’s how to make this 3rd generation Gram’s Homemade Biscuits Recipe:

Gram’s Homemade Biscuits Recipe

A touch of sweetness, warm out of the oven, and no need to run to the store to grab eggs, this “out of the depression era” biscuits recipe tastes just like Grandma’s recipe. With just 5 ingredients you already have in your pantry (and fridge), you can use these biscuits as an easy side dish, as your base of strawberry shortcake (if you’re the biscuits type) or as a tea snack. Ready to make your own homemade biscuits in record time? Here’s the recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 2 Cups of Flour
  • 5 TBSP of Crisco
  • 1/2 TSP Salt
  • 3 TSP Baking Powder
  • 1 Cup Milk (I use whole…but buttermilk is also an option)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Grease cookie sheet.
  2. Combine ingredients in large bowl until mixed well.
  3. Drop by TBSP fulls about 3-5 inches apart on cookie sheet.
  4. Bake 12-15 minutes or until tops are golden brown.

Enjoy this EASY Homemade Biscuits Recipe! Hoping that I would be making Gram proud and leaving behind her amazing legacy with the world. She was a fantastic woman with a wicked smile and a wild sense of humor. But every time we eat these biscuits, we are reminded of family.
