10 Reasons to Love the Ford Fusion 2014 Review

So last month, I had the absolute luxurious pleasure of traveling to Atlanta, Georgia in style. The Ford Fusion 2014 and I had an extended “date”. In over 19 hours of driving, I got to know this amazing vehicle very personally. And by the end of the journey, we became best buds. Even dubbing the nickname “The Sass,” the 2014 Ford Fusion Titanium with EcoBoost was definitely a car to love. In fact, I have 10 reasons for you to love the 2014 Ford Fusion!

2014 ford fusion red

1. Sleek Inside and Out

Ok, so wondering where “The Sass” nickname came from? Because this car has all the class and sass inside and out. The exterior of the 2014 Ford Fusion is sleek and clean. The white color is beautiful and classic, definitely what I would expect from a luxury sedan. I just love the design! Perfect for a family.

But then you get inside. Red. Leather. Interior. Oh yes, we have sass! Comfortable seats with a modern twist, technologically savvy, and built for the modern day family.

2. Smart Driving

Technology has surely come a long way in driving. It was the first time that I got to experience smart driving at it’s finest, with the most smart driving features I have ever used in a vehicle!

Lane Assist – Are you a lane drifter? The Lane Assist not only alerts you when the car starts to drift out of the lane, but will also start to stiffen the wheel to maintain your lane position.

Driver Alert System – Experienced this firsthand! The 2014 Ford Fusion will begin to track your driving. As your decision become a little more erratic or dangerous, the car will set the Driver Alert System to get you focused and maybe even suggest a rest before continuing on your journey. Hey, we all need reminders every now and then to rest!

BLIS and cross traffic alert – The intelligent Blind Spot Information System has lighted alerts in the blindside mirrors to let you know when someone is in your blind spot. Also with cross traffic alert, these small features do more to give you extra eyes when driving.

Adaptable Cruise Control – Love using cruise control? I definitely do when on long car trips! the Ford Fusion has an adaptable cruise control system. It will automatically start slowing down your car when you come too close to one in front of you.

Forward Collision Warning – Safety, safety, safety! The Forward Collision Warning System is nice to have on board, just in case of an impending accident. Any extra safety measure is welcome in my car!

3. Rear view camera, comes standard

I am a huge fan of the now STANDARD review camera, included with the 2014 Ford Fusion. The Large color screen with park assist helps you to navigate when in reverse.

4. First of Its Class Safety Feature

Safety is the primary concern when it comes to choosing a vehicle. I have the most precious backseat passengers, so I want to ensure that they have the MOST safety features available to them. The 2014 Ford Fusion is the first of it’s midsize sedan class to offer backseat inflatable safety belts. These outboard second-row safety belts help distribute crash force energy across more of the torso area than a traditional belt, which helps reduce the risk of injury while providing support to the head and neck. In the event of a frontal or side crash, the inflatable safety belts hold the passenger in the appropriate seating position, helping to reduce risk of injury. I love that these safety belts are compatible with many infant and child-safety booster seats too.

5. SYNC Voice-Activated Technology

The SYNC Technology inside the Ford Fusion is definitely one of my favorite features of the car. By easily plugging in my phone in the included USB charging ports, I have access to:

  • Hands-free calling using Bluetooth®-enabled phone
  • Voice-activated music search
  • Audible text messages
  • Personalized news, weather and sports129
  • 911 Assist® and Vehicle Health Report28

Also included in your smart dashboard, a full Navigation system is available (with up to date traffic alerts), Sirius Satellite Radio and a My Ford Touch Screen. I just LOVE having easy to use technology in my car!

6. Smooth and Quiet Ride

Definitely something that I look for in my vehicles, I want to be able to drive without feeling like I’m driving in a tin can. With 2 precious children as my cargo, they’re often times sleeping in the car. I’d hate to wake them with a bump or loud highway driving. The Ford Fusion smooth, quiet and stable.

7. Where Did My Key Go?

Can you tell I’ve never had a smart car before? I was constantly looking for a key to put in the ignition! The 2014 Ford Fusion features an easy to use keyless remote. As long as you have the keyless remote in your car with you, you can start your car with just a push of a button. Cold outside? You can also use your keyless remote to start up your car (with your preset heating/cooling level) before you step in! This is great for a gal that lives in Florida with 2 kids. I can start up the AC and cool off the car long before setting my kids inside. Not more complaining about hot seats!

8. Heated and Cooled the Way You Like It

My husband and my temperature comfort levels are very different. He’s always hot and I’m always cold. With the 2014 Ford Fusion, we both get the comfort levels we enjoy. Each with our own cooling/heating adjustment settings,

Also with options for heated/cooled seats and temperature adjusted steering wheel, you can have control with the Ford Fusion.

9. Family Ready

Plenty of trunk space, plenty of leg room, comfortable seating, the Ford Fusion is definitely family friendly. This luxury mid size sedan seats 5, with plenty of room for my kids and their car seats. I had no problems accessing the hooks to install my car seats quickly and easily. Stow your family sports gear, groceries and children with care. Use technology to get your life moving faster and easier than ever.

10. Hello Fuel Mileage!

The 2014 Ford Fusion offers so many great options to give you the MOST for your furl mileage. With 3 EcoBoost engines, Hybrid and Energi Plug-In Hybrid Technology Engines to choose from, you can grab up to 44 estimated mpg! Just on my drive to Atlanta from Orlando alone, I only filled up twice in my 19 hours of driving. I easily could have gone over 600 miles of driving before filling up my tank! That’s such an upgrade from my current car. I know fuel mileage is of great concerns for families like me, with lots of mom errands, soccer games and rising fuel costs! Having the EcoBoost engine in the Ford Fusion definitely holds a key to my heart!

Ford fusion review

The alerts for the blind spot would be my most-used feature. I’m always straining to see who is over there. This is such a great looking car!

I drove one of these very briefly at a Ford press event. I LOVED this car and have been begging my husband for one. He says when the kids are older I might be able to get one. *sigh*
