Exclusive ABC’s Single Parents Set Tour
You don’t need to be single to appreciate this TV set. It’s the new ABC comedy show that has me literally laughing out loud every episode. Because parenthood, y’all, it takes a village. Jake Choi, who plays “Miggy Park” and executive producer Jason Winer join us for an Exclusive Single Parents Set Tour. Get a behind-the-scenes look at the series that’s making all parents laugh while shouting AMEN and scroll down for our meet and greet with the amazing cast.
Douglas Fogerty’s House
I would totally want to live here…if I was a guy…with no kids…This dermatologist certainly knows how to live large. Cold, modern, dark, and NOT kid-friendly, it fits this single dad’s personality to a T.
Jason Winer let us know that the rooms on the set change around often and redressed. So right now this is a study – but this room has also been the twins’ bedroom too.
Angie D’Amato’s House
I wanted to burst into tears when I saw Angie’s house up close. It’s every busy mom’s home. Toys strewn everywhere. Random forgotten stuff.
The messy fridge. Endless reminders and notes to self that never get used. Angie is the epitome of today’s mom trying to balance it all. And for a single mom, she does it beautifully.
Miggy Park’s Apartment
Can we say baby fever? There wasn’t much left of Miggy’s apartment when we strolled through, but oh did we get to see baby Jack’s nursery. All of the baby shoes!
Will Cooper’s House
They were filming inside of Will’s home, so no pics. But I did get this “drive-by” shot of the filming process. Pretty awesome how much equipment and people it takes! Another fun fact? Will’s house and Angie’s house share kid rooms too.
Rory’s Room
It’s the room every fashionable little girl would want…and Rory too. Yes, this is Rory’s Fashion Passion Studio. The trendy son of Poppy surely knows how to style his room to be THE place to be.
Hilltop Elementary School
It was a breath of fresh air to see that part of the Single Parents set actually takes place outside. Hilltop Elementary is set here with it’s playground, tables and iconic mural wall. I loved the little notes posted on the bulletin boards too and the mushroom seats inside of Miss Adams’ classroom.
Poppy’s Winebrary
We ended our tour in my favorite set location. Poppy’s Winebrary is the picture of a single mom running a successful business from the ground up. I love how all of her struggles and triumphs are portrayed right in this scene. A touch of elegance, relaxation and an escape from it all!
A group photo with Kimrie Lewis (“Poppy Banks”), Leighton Meester (“Angie D’Amato”), Taran Killam (“Will Cooper”), Brad Garrett (“Douglas Fogerty”), and Jake Choi (“Miggy Park”),
and of course, a selfie with my fellow Korean Jake Choi (Koreans unite!),
and it was back to reality again. But behind the humor, the drama and the chaos of ABC’s Single Parents – there’s real heart here. Whether we are single parents or double parents, I think we can all relate to parenting, humanity and community that makes this journey a one-of-a-kind experience filled with love. And sometimes through the laughter, we find healing, recharging and passion to live our best lives.
See Single Parents on Wednesdays at 9:30|8:30c on ABC. You can also watch via streaming (ABC app/ABC.com/Hulu) and on demand.

“The Beast” – Will encourages Angie to rediscover her passion for heavy metal music by taking a guitar class, and in turn, Angie insists that Will get back in the field covering weather by driving both of them into a storm. Meanwhile, the rest of the gang explore their romantic passions as Douglas pursues his crush on Big Red with the help of Miggy, and Poppy feels an instant connection with a dreamy musician.
