Cornell Fine Arts Museum | FREE Family Days at Rollins College

Though I’ve lived in Orlando for over 13 years, I’ve only ventured to Rollins College once. I know; it’s too bad. If you’ve never been to the quaint and historical Rollins College in Winter Park yet, it’s truly a beautiful sight! And tucked in the middle of the campus is the Cornell Fine Arts Museum, known to locals as the CFAM.

*Update as of 2021, Cornell Fine Arts Museum has been renamed as Rollins Museum of Art.

The CFAM is a beautiful art museum filled with over 5,000 treasures both old and new. Known to have some of the most distinguished collections in Florida, CFAM attracts young college students, families and art buffs alike to spend the day checking out pieces of history. And guess what, it’s all for FREE! Yes, everyday the CFAM is open, you get to marvel at these woks of art for free. And to think I never knew this! I’m always one to broaden the horizons of my kids and include art into their education, so you bet that we will be traveling here again!

FREE CFAMily Days

And just in time for 2014, the Cornell Fine Arts Museum has just announced the return of the Free CFAMily Days at the Cornell. Geared towards families, these special days are filled with activities that spark imagination, creativity and fun and includes:

  • Gallery Tours
  • Hands-On-Art Creation Stations
  • Scavenger Hunts
  • Games

We were amazed when we arrived to the first CFAMily day of the summer on June 20th. The CFAM was packed with families!

We made a self-portrait.

We traced and painted my son’s full body in a real live work of art in progress!

And by then the baby was DONE! Wish we could have stayed for the movie and the hunt! We had a fun day at CFAM!

Rollins Museum of Art

I may just have to add these fun and free family days to my Orlando Kid Friendly Places List! Seriously, we had a fantastic time and really enjoyed getting our family together for a day celebrating art.
