3 Boys Back to School Outfits for Under $50 + Kohl’s Coupon
It’s hard to believe that in a few short weeks we will have another round of back-to-school chaos in our midst. Under normal circumstances, I would be a Nervous Nelly. But this is the first year where my son isn’t having stomach pains and anxiety going into back-to-school. He’s changed – confident, assertive and even excited. He’s also discovered hair products and has magically become allergic to haircuts. (I’m still trying to figure that one out.) 8-years old going on 15, my son now has some serious opinions on what is “cool” to wear to school.
So this year we headed to Kohl’s for trendy, 8-year old approved, and affordable style that my son can be proud to wear. And on his own, he came up with 3 killer and unique boys back to school outfits for under $50. Check out his favorite picks and how each outfit reflects his own personality and style and be sure to scroll down for your Kohl’s coupon savings!
Star Wars Enthusiast
There’s a little Star Wars nerd inside of us all. And I’m so proud that this little guy lets his love of Star Wars shine through, even in his personal style with this amazing Star Wars inspired back-to-school outfit.
He’s not ashamed to let everyone know that Darth Vader is the man with this fun Darth Vader character tee he chose. There are tons of great licensed character tees to choose from at Kohl’s, for as low as $10!
And I LOVE that he picked out this awesome Star Wars button down shirt with fun Stormtrooper and Boba Fett designs – perfect for layering or Sunday church and such a steal at under $15!
Add some comfy Urban Pipeline cargo shorts (the big pockets are cool, or at least what he tells me),
these slip-on black Vans skate sneakers,
and *ahem* extra hair gel, and we have an amazing First Day of School outfit! Preppy, nerdy (in a good way), and FUN – this 100% my son! The Force is definitely with this guy’s style.
Game on! My son’s baseball season may be over, but that doesn’t mean that he’s benching his love for America’s favorite pastime. Always busy, this kid loves to run, play sports and be 100% boy. It’s no surprise that my son is really into active wear this fall. So he decided to deck himself out head-to-toe in his favorite sports brand, Nike.
Red is his favorite color, so there was no question when he chose this Nike tee featuring two things he loves: the American Flag and baseball.
I was shocked when he chose these printed Nike Legacy shorts, but they fit his wild side perfectly! I love the drawstring waist too, fitting his slim figure.
What brings the whole outfit together? The shoes, of course. My son FLIPPED out when he found these red Nike sneakers to match his red shirt. It was the “best” idea he had ever had…like, ever. I certainly couldn’t argue with that, especially when these shoes were under $45!
Floridian at Heart
Once a Florida boy, always a Florida boy! I love that my son’s last outfit choice reflects his personal Florida style. Comfortable, relaxed and perfect for everyday wear, I definitely foresee this outfit on repeat all 3rd grade long.
This Tony Hawk Beach Lines Tee is super soft, comfy and slim fitting – and a steal for under $10.
The biggest challenge was finding the perfect pair of jeans for this guy’s growing legs and tiny waist, all without looking “childish.” He looks so much older in these fitted Levis Skinny Stretch Jeans – quality denim that I know will last us all school year (or at least until his next growth spurt).
Trendy Mom Look Without the Effort
Kids aren’t the only ones going back-to-school. Now is the perfect time to stock up on mom’s wardrobe too, with big savings on this season’s hottest trends. I always love when my clothes do the work for me. So this season, I’m picking out wardrobe staples that instantly give me style without all of the hassle and effort.
This SO Lace Trim Tank is the perfect combo of fabrics, design and little details. I love how the lace trim works with the stripe design. The cut is perfect for moms – with a fun split back for extra room and comfort! And did I mention the amazing price for under $10? Such a steal!
Ripped jeans are back this season, and this fall I love that my Kohl’s has Denizen by Levis in stock! Some of the most comfortable, ultra stretchy and best fitting jeans I own, I picked out this amazing pair of budget-friendly Denizen Boyfriend Ripped Jeans in my Juniors section for under $35. BONUS – I actually went down a size too!
Mom’s Socially Acceptable Pajama Substitute
Say it with me, “I will not wear pajamas to the bus stop.” I admit that I’ve been guilty of sporting this taboo mom uniform on more than one occasion. So finding a worthy substitute for yoga pants and baggy tee that I can feel GOOD in – it was actually easier than I thought.
This Sonoma Swing Dress is flattering, affordable and ridiculously comfortable. Hugging me in the right places and hiding the dreaded mom pooch 24/7, and I couldn’t say no to a fun “Sangria” color. I love how it feels like I’m wearing pajamas, but with 1,000 more style points. And for under $20, this dress is definitely going to rescue any potential mom style tragedies this year.
And can we gush over these sandals? It’s not a school year without comfortable and stylish Florida mom shoes! These Sonoma grommet slingback sandals can be worn with just about anything. I just slip-on and go – knocking out errands, after-school activities and more, for under $20 as well.
