Why Big Hero 6 Is Going to be a BIG Movie #BigHero6

Have you heard the latest Disney Animation buzz? That’s right, this November 2014 marks the next big Disney animated movie, Big Hero 6. And as if that wasn’t enough to want to take the whole family to see this newest installment of Disney history, I have 6 (yes, cheesy number, but definitely required) reasons that you just HAVE to go see Big Hero 6 in theaters this fall. With insider info and an exclusive sneak peek I received while visiting the Disney Animation Studios, you and your family are just going to love the biggest and most huggable super hero!

BIG HERO 6

1. A BIG squishable and loveable robot named Baymax + a team of unlikely kids as super heroes

What gets kids excited about movies? A giant iconic robot and a band of kid super heroes, of course! The Disney Animation team has brought together team of really cool kids as first-time super heroes to combat evil and save their city from destruction. Pretty cool, huh? But the iconic hero of the movie is an inflatable, squishy, and soft spoken robot named Baymax. A “health” programmed robot, Baymax’s literal sense of the world becomes charming and humorous as he teams up with this unlikely crew to save the world.

Filled with bright colors, gadgetry and cool super hero outfits, Hiro and his friends are ready for an action-packed adventure!

2. A really awesome and creepy bad guy

What’s a good Disney animated movie without it’s iconic villain? How cool looking is this guy? In my exclusive sneak peek of the movie, we got to see incredible footage of YoKai, the villain in action. No speaking parts needed to add creepiness to his character. He just uses his army of micro-robots to destroy the city and try to take out Hiro and Baymax. According to the directors, we get to see exactly who this villain is by the end of the movie. But this bad dude is one guy your family will love to hate.

3. A “Big Hero” team of dedicated and passionate Disney Animation creators

The team of talent behind Big Hero 6 has Disney magic fingerprints all over it. This is NOT going to be your average Japanese cartoon movie, folks. Directed by Don Hall (“Winnie the Pooh”) and Chris Williams (“Bolt”), and produced by Roy Conli (“Tangled”) plus the awesome animation work from folks that worked on Frozen, Wreck It Ralph, and more, Big Hero 6 has just the Disney touch you were looking for on an animated movie. BIG talent, BIG passions, BIG dreams are all wrapped up inside Big Hero 6.

4. San Fransokyo – say that 3 times fast

Disney animation at it’s finest, is wrapped up in the busy city of San Fransokyo. The city is based on the combination of San Francisco and of course, Tokyo, Japan. Using natural cinematic lighting and really cool animation effects that only Disney can bring to life, this city is just a flurry of excitement. I could sit and watch the action in this city all day long. Just beautiful graphics!

5. Because the movie was cool enough to trick out the Disney Animation Lobby

One of my favorite stops on my Disney media trip was to the Disney Animation Studios. Inside, the Disney Animation team really takes pride in their next big movie by celebrating it right in the lobby of their workplace. So guess what is adorning the Disney Animation Studios these days? Oh yes, gigantic Baymax, Yokai and Hiro all adorning the lobby. It was really awesome to just step inside the building much less see the amazing pride that Disney takes in their film making.

Plus, I found my new boyfriend 🙂

6. FEAST

If for no other reason, you have to go to Big Hero 6 just to check out the newest animation short, Feast. I don’t know how those Disney animators can have me crying in only a few minutes, but they definitely did.

This touching short film by Director Patrick Osborne uses his love and passion of food and a loveable dog in a series of very fast progressing take of life. Using the inspiration of taking 1 second clips of Patrick’s meals over the span of a year, he made food the star of this little piece. And lots and lots of food will be there. Come hungry. I won’t be giving away any more secrets, but this short may be my favorite of all time. Yes, it’s that good. Go see it!
