Dear busy families, it’s time to slow down summer with a poolside ice cream party. This post is sponsored by The Motherhood & Mayfield Creamery ice cream. All delicious opinions are my own.

Slow Down Summer with Poolside Ice Cream Party Ideas

Everyone is rushing to make summer bigger and better than ever. And I’m over here trying to desperately slow our days down. Boredom. What happened to letting our kids be bored without feeling guilty about it? What happened to celebrating the small wins like swim class, an epic fort build, or a cozy novel finished?

Ice cream memories always seem to ground us back into reality. Summer doesn’t have to be bigger or better. Summer just has to be. So I’m making sure that we are taking the time to slow down summer with a few reminders for us “busy parents” and a poolside ice cream party. Don’t let the busy-ness of summer slip away without taking time to indulge in the sweet moments.

How to slow down summer

Indulging in Simple Summer Joys

Not every summer memory can be the best summer memory. It just has to have smiles attached to it. And I don’t know about you, but my family hasn’t can’t resist smiling when there’s ice cream involved.

And with Mayfield Creamery ice cream in hand, we can indulge in those simple summer joys. Unlike most ice creams from the grocery store, Mayfield preserves that creamy sweet taste that generations of ice cream lovers trust. Using only fresh cream from their dairy, no artificial growth hormones and signature family recipes that have been perfected over three generations – yup, it’s that good.

And with ice cream that good, we can really slow down and enjoy those simple summer joys. We can instantly turn a boo-boo into smile with extra sprinkles and an ice cream cone. We can indulge in a meltdown-free day with a little nighttime indulgence.

We can celebrate long summer days, laughter and family togetherness with classic Mayfield ice cream flavors, or spice things up with limited time Southern inspired varieties. Either way, tasting the simple summer joys is easy, natural and fun.

Savoring the Sweet Moments Together

Where summer goes, ice cream will follow. And it’s no surprise that Mayfield Creamery followed us on our recent dessert night out at the Ravenous Pig. If you haven’t had the pleasure of visiting this amazing gastropub in the heart of Winter Park, Florida, you’re missing out on one of the most delicious food experiences I have ever tasted.

Just in time for summer, Ravenous Pig and Mayfield have partnered up to bring the sweetness of the South home to Orlando. Hurry and head into the Ravenous Pig this summer to try two delightful new desserts from Chefs James and Julie Petrakis inspired by the Mayfield ice cream we love. Bet you can’t have just one.

How can you make the iced tea and lemonade combo even better? You add ice cream. I loved this twist on this traditional Southern summertime drink. Featuring Mayfield Creamery Lemon Ice Box Pie ice cream and jasmine tea meringue, and served with a side of homemade shortbread cookies – perfect for dunking – and served in a mason jar,

When those fresh summer berries are in season, I just can’t get enough. So get your sweet summer berry fix with this twist on the classic ice cream cake. Brown butter cake is layered with Mayfield Creamery Summer Berry Swirl ice cream and then topped with juniper berry compote and tons of streusel.

Celebrating Summer with a Poolside Ice Cream Party

Any excuse is a good excuse for an ice cream party. And with Mayfield Creamery ice cream BOGO at our local Publix for $5.99, our freezer has been stocked with the good stuff all summer long. Our family has been soaking in the last weeks of the season with pool time, cook outs and game nights. So it only seemed fitting to add a poolside ice cream party to the mix.

No one complained. The whole time. Because…ice cream.

and a bucket of ice filled with classic Mayfield Creamery ice cream flavors like Signature Vanilla, Chocolate and Brown Cow Delight (those fudge swirls are the bomb dot com!) is all you need to keep the summer slow down going. It doesn’t have to big or complicated. Just fun.

I’ll admit, slowing down summer is hard. When you’re a busy family like us, we sometimes forget to really appreciate those days when our kids are young, when the days are long, and when our hearts are happy. We may only have a few weeks left of this summer break, but now is the perfect time to slow down summer. Indulge in simple joys. Enjoy sweet memories. And hey, a poolside ice cream party is always a good idea. Don’t forget the Mayfield Creamery ice cream.
