I love grocery shopping. There’s something so magical about wandering aisles – surrounded by all of my favorite things…you know, food. Then hand me an hour to wander those delicious food aisles? Bliss. Pure bliss. With Safeway stores now open in Florida, I didn’t need an excuse to go check out the all-new Orlando grocery store. You just had to tell me to go grocery shopping. Grabbing my “favorite son” for a special mommy-son date, we headed to Orlando’s new Florida Safeway Grocery Store for an afternoon of bliss. Check out 6 reasons why Florida has fallen in love with this new store — including myself.

Safeway actually has been around for awhile. In fact, my parents told me that our family used to go shopping at Safeway when we lived in New York, over 20+ years ago. So right away, I felt comfortable walking through the doors.

Starbucks + Safeway = LOVE

Safeway had me the moment I walked through the doors. Starbucks. There’s a Starbucks inside of the grocery store, folks. Grabbing a Frappucino while I walked felt like a little “mom luxury.” Yes, this was going to be a good grocery shop. I just knew it.

Impressive Organic Selection

The most welcoming surprise at Safeway is the impressive organic selection. In fact, I could bet that more than half of the produce section alone was organic. From beautiful greens to everyday family favorites, and even hard-to-find varieties – I loved how beautiful and fresh the organic produce was, and at great prices.

This week the organic strawberries were 2/$3, which were LESS than the regular fresh strawberries. How often do you see organic fruit costing less than regular fruit? Exactly.

And more than just produce, Safeway dedicates aisles in the store just for Natural and Organic products. I love that. It’s so much easier to find those beloved organic and natural brands, without scouring through aisles.

I Go for BOGO

BOGO. It’s my thing. When I see Buy One Get One deals, I always love to stock up! And now there’s more than one grocery store in town with BOGO savings. Yes, I found them at Safeway too.

Fresh is Fresh

Speaking of fresh, I could say that “fresh” should be Safeway’s motto. As I walked around the store with my son, we noticed just how fresh everything is at this grocery store.

Fresh flowers.

Fresh baked bread smells from the Bakery.

Fresh salad bar, olive bar and hot food bar all in the Fresh Deli selection.

Fresh Meat choices – just like a mom-and-pop butcher shop.

And in case you didn’t know that the seafood is fresh…my son verified that one for us too.
