5 Ways to Give Back to Your Community | Win with Huggies #UltraHug
Summer is one of the best times to get your family involved in your community. Volunteering, donating, and spending time together, your family has so many opportunities to get involved, especially with no school. Just looking around my neighborhood, I know that we are blessed to have such a fun and safe playground, sports fields, splash park and shops. If you’re looking for ways for your family to get involved with your community this summer, I have some easy ways to help give back. Here’s 5 ways to Give Back to Your Community this summer and how you could WIN with Huggies #UltraHug!
1. Donate
No matter what community you live in, there’s always someone that could use your donations. Whether food or clothing or furniture, find your local community donation center that means something to you and find out what they need the most. You’d be surprised of the items you think a donation center needs versus what is actually needed! One of our favorite donation centers is the Knights Helping Knight Pantry on the college campus of the University of Central Florida. There’s actually so many college students that end up homeless and/or with no food due to college expenses and hard times.
2. Volunteer
Your time is valuable, but can make a huge impact! Just one hour, one day, one week can change a community forever. Consider finding ways to volunteer your time to giving back to your community today. Even small changes, such as picking up trash along your street makes a difference!
3. Buy Local
You can support your community even more through your monetary support. Buying local is an easy way to help support the small businesses in your community. Consider buying local produce, eating at a local cafe, and buying your family’s needs through local shops.
4. Be Involved
How can you find other ways your community needs help? Be involved! Whether being active in your local community meetings or just being active in your community, being involved can easily give you access to more ways to help.
5. Give Your Community Project a Huggies #UltraHug

Who do you nominate for a Huggies #UltraHug?
Could you imagine how much a $2,000 grant can make a difference in your neighborhood? So what project do you nominate? My choice is easy. I’ve said it before, but one of my favorite local community projects is United Global Outreach, literally minutes away from my home. This local community outreach program provides so much for the town of Bithlo, one of the poorest communities in Orlando.
- Tuition-Free Private School Education for Grades Kindergarten – High School.
- Night School Program for Adults to Receive their High School GEDs
- Community Vegetable Garden
- Free Resources, Job Help and Educational Programs
- Community Meeting Area
- Coming Soon: Community Coffee House
Perhaps because it’s been so close to home or the countless times that we have been involved through church volunteer programs, but I definitely feel the connection to UGO. They deserve a Huggies #UltraHug this summer and I’d love to see them receive a $2,000 grant to continue the impact they are making in the Bithlo community.

I love these ideas and the program that Huggies is doing right now! We volunteer and donate, but I’d love to get my 4 year old involved more now.
