- Fruit is the first ingredient

Choose the Right Eggs. Not all plastic Easter eggs are the same. Parents, you know this is true. Different shapes, different sizes, different colors, different open and close mechanisms – there’s a knack to choosing the right eggs for your Easter Egg Hunt. Make sure to choose ones that are easy to open/close, the right size to hold your treats, and easily colored to be found!
Have Enough for Everyone. How many eggs should each child receive? That is the question. One of the biggest Easter Egg Hunt tips is making sure that you have enough eggs for each child – enough to make the hunt last longer than 5 seconds. I recommend aiming for the minimum of 10-15 eggs per child. 20-30 is ideal.
Prep Early. If you’ve ever stuffed Easter eggs before, you know it can be a long and tedious process. Emphasis on long and tedious. Go ahead and stuff those eggs beforehand and store in a cool spot (especially if you have any food that may melt).
Designate an Easter Egg Hunt Area. Finding the right spot to host an Easter Egg Hunt can be tricky. Look for somewhere safe for kids to be. A fenced in area is ideal. Also make sure that you have permission to host your event in the area.
Think about the Weather. As always, weather can be unpredictable, especially in Florida! This can affect things like your egg fillers, attire, and even location. Make sure to have a backup plan for rain, extreme warmth and other contingency areas.
Make Rules. Safety, fun and memories. It all can’t happen without some Easter Egg Hunt rules. Be sure that everyone knows the rules before play so everyone can have a good time!
Give Yourself Enough Time to Set Up. Placing hundreds if not thousands of plastic eggs can take longer than you think. Be sure to give yourself ample time to set out all of your Easter Egg Hunt supplies, including a check in table and decor if needed (like my FREE Printable Easter Egg Hunt Signs below).
Bring Extras. Because life happens. Extra baskets, bags, eggs, fillers, tape, decor…You never know what may happen. Late comers may show up. Things may break. Be prepared!
Save Your Eggs. After all of the fun is done, don’t throw away your eggs! Save and reuse for the next Easter Egg Hunt. You’ll save money, time and effort with one of these Easter egg hunt tips.
