The short term answer is no. The long term answer is a BIG, FAT YES!
Online surveys are a great way to earn a little extra cash, try out free products before they hit the market, and give your honest opinions about stuff. However, if you’re thinking you’re going to become instantly rich and get to quit your job, think again. Time is money, and it’s the same way with online surveys. The average good survey site will offer about $1 per 10 minutes of survey time. And though I may not be rich off of my survey time, it has allowed me to shop for clothes, eat out and get that little extra “something” I’ve been eyeing. Here are trusted survey sites that I am personally a part of and are my favorites!
1. Opinion Outpost. Since joining in June, I have earned $86.30 in cash, mailed straight to my house. This site is great because they send you emails with direct links to the surveys. They constantly have openings to join. While I have earned the most cash from this site, I also have had the most rejections. They do NOT give partial credit for attempting the survey, which can lead to frustration. To avoid this, I highly recommend filling out the profiles section so you have a greater chance of matching what the survey is looking for = less rejections! Some surveys offer 50 points per survey (or $5!).
*New since December 2011, they no longer offer mailed checks. You can now get PayPal or Amazon giftcards instead.
2. My Survey. This site is great for getting restaurant/retail giftcards. You can get a cash out at $10 for only 1100 points (some surveys are worth 150-200 points each). Since joining in May 2011, I’ve received over $200 in giftcards. I have also received product tests (but few). The downside is that this site has limited openings. .
3. Pinecone Research. This site is absolutely one of my favorites. Be warned, this site is VERY hard to get into! I had to sign up about 15 times before I was accepted. The pay off is that you get a check mailed to you for every survey. That’s right, $3 mailed to you for EACH survey attempted. And you don’t have to worry about not qualifying/partial credit, etc. This site makes sure that you are accepted. To date, I think I have cashed in about $100, but have only been a member since August 2011. 🙂
4. E-Rewards. I have been a part of this survey company for years. It is by invitation only from one of the site’s partners. I was invited by American Eagle via their facebook page. This sits offers partial credit and you can use the points towards flights, hotels, or giftcards. This year alone, I have gotten $75 in giftcards.
6.Ipsos. This site offers product tests, rewards with Amazon giftcards, charity options. It’s more difficult to qualify for a survey, but for every survey attempted, you have a chance to win their monthly sweeps for CASH. I’ve cashed out about $20 in Amazon giftcards since joining in August 2011.
There are other sites out there, but none that I trust enough to tell you about 🙂 If you have a little extra time and want to earn a little extra spending money, online surveys are the way to go.
