World’s Tallest Coaster Coming to Orlando I-Drive #Skyview
Have you heard the latest buzz? Skyscraper at SKYPLEX is coming to Orlando’s HOT I-Drive area for 2016. That’s right. We are going to have a theme park outside of our theme parks. At the intersection of International Drive and Sand Lake Road is going to be one of the biggest entertainment complexes and yes, World’s Tallest Roller Coaster.

Standing 570 feet tall with the apt name of The Skyscraper, features the first Polercoaster built. Basically, they’re sticking a huge roller coaster inside of a skyscraper. So you get all of the thrills you love, in an unusual vertical space. This new thrill in-of-itself is intriguing enough for me to go on it. “There will be incredible heart-pounding inside and outside loops, dives, spirals and inversions like the world has never seen.” Yes, sign me up!
Going in right next to the 425 foot Orlando Eye set to open soon, the SKYPLEX (aka that huge entertainment complex that will include the roller coaster and the Eye) will cover about 495,000 square feet and a $200 million price tag. A lofty 535 feet tall observation deck is also going into the SKYVIEW’s tallest point, as well as the region’s tallest elevators. Worried about parking? A huge 1,500 car parking garage and valet service is to be expected. Said to bring in new dining and nightlife to the I-Drive area, this complex certainly has some interesting buzz around it.
Mango’s Tropical Café in Orlando, opening in 2015, will be a world-class restaurant and nightlife entertainment destination in the heart of the International Drive district and just one mile from the Orange County Convention Center. The heart of the SKYPLEX area, this restaurant, with 55,000 square feet of entertainment space, live bands, shows and dancing, plus gourmet dining and event packages, will have a parking garage next door to it.
My question is….what will it cost us?
