What the blog has bought

What the Blog Has Bought

There are very few moments when I look back on the blog and say “Man, I’ve made it.” But today, I’m in awe. I did it. The blog did it. And no matter what happens from here, I can always say that my little blog helped our family in a big, big way. I title this post What the Blog Has Bought, because it’s a simple reminder of how far I’ve come as a blogger, a business owner and a mom. All of the hard work has finally paid off in ways I never even thought possible.

Blog accomplishments

In 2013 when my blog made it’s first $50 for a blog post, I started a small fund. Not a big deal at the time. But I thought that one day I’d be able to use that fund to do something amazing for my family. For all of the time, the work, the tears and the joys that the blog has brought to our family, I thought that one day I’d be able to say thank you to them. So, leaving the account alone, I watched the fund grow very slowly from 2013 to today in 2015.

2015, An Impulse Year

2015 was going to be a big year. Our 10th wedding anniversary upon us, I made a very out of character impulse decision. And if you know me very well, this girl never makes rash, impulse decisions. I bought the family (all 4 of us) tickets for our first Disney Cruise….and the blog paid for it. That’s right, Saving Said Simply and Raising Whasians (my blog babies) paid for our first family vacation in years. And what a true vacation it was going to be. No Wi-Fi. That’s right, this blogger was going to cut all internet connections. No required blog posts. Focus on connecting with my family….really connecting.

Finally arriving home (and not wanting to leave), I can easily say….

It was the best business purchasing decision I have ever made.

I never would have thought that less than 2 years of saving could have taken me, my family, my blog this far in my career. But hey, Disney dreams really do come true. The blog bought us the ultimate family vacation. It was the best impulse decision to date. An accomplishment. A milestone. A true tangible measure of success. Wow. The blog has bought us a family vacation of a lifetime. I couldn’t be happier, prouder and more excited about the future. More impulse decisions in my near future? Probably not ๐Ÿ™‚ But I may start another bucket list fund for our family, all paid for by the blog.

Stay tuned has I blog about our family’s amazing travel adventures from a non-stressful, no-pressure, NOT sponsored place from my heart. With my favorite smiles, best tips and lots of amazing memories to share, I cannot wait to give this family trip the attention it deserves.

Blog success

What has the blog bought us? Time. Priceless Memories. Dreams. When was the last time your impulse decision paid off?

Be sure to follow Raising Whasians for more of my family moments, ups and downs and REAL life.

that’s so amazing that you were able to take a family trip! ๐Ÿ™‚ there’s so much work that goes on behind the scenes of blogging that people never really get to see, and it’s great to finally be able to reap the rewards. i haven’t taken a non-work related trip in a while, but i’m planning on it next year!

I don’t know when an impulse decision paid off in my life, if I thought about, I’d find something, but not as big and tremendous as yours! I’m very happy for you, and glad you could go on this vacation! You have an excellent blog, and it is a lot of effort that goes into good posts, I know, as I tried a blog just for fun posts for a couple of weeks and was dumbfounded at how much harder it is than it looks!!! You deserve the success!!
