VTech Innotab 3S Plus Tablet Review
Today, my son became so much cooler than me. We recently celebrated my son’s 6th birthday, and he has been asking forever for one of those handheld electronic devices. So this review of the new VTech Innotab 3S Plus Tablet could not have come at a better time for us. That’s right, folks. My son has a tablet. And I don’t. With amazing features and answers to parent concerns, I know that the VTech Innotab 3S Plus Learning Tablet will be the perfect gift this holiday season! check out my 7 reasons why we LOVE the new VTech Innotab 3S Plus Tablet.
1. Technology Made Just for Kids
Your kids want to be just like mom and dad, down to their gadgets. The new VTech Innotab 3S Plus Tablet has everything your need to give them an amazing tablet device.
- 180 degree rotating camera
- Touch pad
- Large 4.3 inch screen
- Video recorder
- MP3 and video player
- Art Studio
- Ability to play reloadable cartridges AND downloadable apps
- Durable tough cover
- Large buttons and included stylus
- Easy to use from Ages 3-9 years old
2. Includes More Than Just a Tablet
I was actually surprised how much came with the tablet. More than just the electronic device itself, we also received:
- 14 apps ALREADY on the tablet
- 2 FREE apps that you can pick and download, up to a $2.99 value each
- Rechargeable battery pack
- AC Adaptor
- USB cable
- 4G of memory + expandable up to 32G
- 2 styluses + attachment string
- 1 Innotab software preview cartridge (with fun videos of some of the cool characters and games you could purchase)
I was shocked how many different apps we had to choose from! My son really really enjoys the Galaxy Spell App for ages 5-9. It combines the action adventure game with spelling. He keeps telling me how much he LOVES it! 🙂
3. Combines Education and FUN
Get ready to go on an adventure! From reading eBooks to solving critical thinking problems, hanging out with their Disney characters and working on those math skills, the playtime is endless with the new Vtech Innotab 3S Plus Tablet! Geared for ages 3-9 years, this tablet is capable of keeping up with your child’s expanding mind. There’s over 800 cartridges, software and apps that have been educator endorsed for your child’s learning level. There’s the perfect learning game for any child’s ability!
4. Wifi Enabled
This is a new feature of the VTech Innotab 3S Plus Tablet that I actually really enjoy. Your child can access kid-approved websites through the Wifi enabled app! This is great for accessing your child’s favorite kid-friendly sites, and gives them the freedom to do MORE with their tablet.
Your new VTech Innotab 3S Plus Tablet can receive text messages through the Premium VTech Kid Connect™ app. This is great for sending and receiving fun messages, drawings, pictures and more through your smartphone and their tablet. I can see how this would be so useful for those grandparent visits, sleepovers and business trips. You can stay personally connected with your child! And if you’re looking to possibly get them their own phone in the future, the VTech Innotab 3S Plus Tablet is a great stepping stone.
5. FULL Parental Controls
I think one of the hardest things about giving a child an electronic device is worrying about all of the freedoms and dangers that come with WiFi and texting. I totally get that as a parent. We want to protect our children as much as possible. VTech understands our concerns and has provided amazing parental controls to keep our kids safe online.
Everything is managed via the VTech Learning Lodge™, which is easily installed on your computer. Through your KidConnect ID and password set up, you can control exactly what you want your child to have access through your VTech Innotab 3S Plus Tablet. Through strict parental controls, you can manage full control over the VTech Innotab 3S Plus Tablet. From your child’s contacts via the Premium VTech Kid Connect™ app (including addition, invitation and removal of contacts) to the exact websites your child can have access to (including addition and removal of websites), parents can feel at ease knowing that their children are safe using the VTech Tablet.
6. Portability to Take Learning Whenever We Go
The best part about the VTech Innotab 3S Plus Learning Tablet is how portable it is. We can literally take it with us wherever we go! Whether in the car, waiting at the doctor’s office, on vacation, or getting some extra reading time in, the VTech Innotab 3S Plus Tablet is ready to take on any new adventure with our family.
7. Cool Mom Status
And if nothing else, getting the new VTech Innotab 3S Plus Tablet definitely give you Cool Mom Status. You can enjoy that spotlight, extra cuddles and praise from your kids as long as possible. Go ahead, you’ve earned it! In fact just today my son told me “This is the coolest things I ever have.”
Now keep in mind, folks that the VTech Innotab 3S Plus Tablet is NOT fully like a computer. There is a little bit of lag time between app loadings that you and your child will need to be patient about. But other than that, we really haven’t found anything else that we don’t love about the tablet.
You can purchase the new VTech Innotab 3S Plus Tablet online for MSRP of $79.99. I can think of lots of kids that would be ecstatic to receive this amazing learning tablet for the holidays! My son absolutely loves his new VTech Innotab 3S Plus Tablet. I look forward to many many more years of learning fun with him!
