This Mother’s Day I want to remind every mom that “I see and appreciate you.” Here’s my letter to the Lonely Mom Silently Suffering. This post is sponsored by Florida Prepaid College Plans, through my role as a Believer Blogger. All emotional mom opinions are my own.
To the Lonely Mom Silently Suffering
I recently read a parenting quote that struck me to the core. “Parenting is the easiest thing in the world to have an opinion about, but the hardest thing in the world to do.” Raising kids to be good humans is the most important thing we will accomplish in our lifetime. And sometimes that job is a lonely one. Today on Mother’s Day, I am shining a spotlight on the Lonely Mom Silently Suffering – with my love letter to you.
I see you. And I want to remind you that I am here for you this Mother’s Day.
To the Lonely Mom Silently Suffering
I see you.
I see you when the days are good. And parenting is most rewarding.
But I also see you when the days are the hardest, wondering if you can make it through another day like this one.
I see you when you’re thankful, but also when you feel thankless.
I see you when you have no answers. I see you when you wish you didn’t have the answers.
I see you when you’re surrounded by people, but none of them you consider “friends.”
I see you when you wonder what your life could have been had you NOT had kids.
I see you when the grief washes over again, because of the child you loved but lost.
I see you when you’re at your lowest – curled into a fetal position, sobbing silently in your pillow. Too may days like that.
I see you because I am you. The truth is, I’ve been exactly where you are now. There are days when the job of mom is lonely. Sure you’re surrounded by your beautiful kids and a loving family – but there are days when you wonder if anyone really and truly understands how hard it is to be a mom. We wear so many hats everyday. We fill so many roles. We sacrifice always. We give every ounce of ourselves and at the end of the day, we don’t have anything left to give ourselves – especially the gifts of grace, forgiveness, love.
We have so many moments that are never shared with anyone, those moments when parenting is hard and the emotions are high and the spirit is low, really low. But wouldn’t it be good to know that someone out there “sees you” too?
Thank you, Mom.
