5 Tips for Exploring Ninjago World at LEGOLAND Florida & Video

Clever, interactive and Ninja-friendly. LEGO® Ninjago® World has just opened at LEGOLAND® Florida, and it’s one of the coolest lands yet! With plenty of kids activities, attractions and an all-new 4D ride, it’s no wonder that families are loving what LEGOLAND is offering for guests

Check out my 5 Best Tips for Exploring Ninjago World at LEGOLAND Florida – including how to rack up the points on Ninjago the Ride, mastering your best ninja skills, and how to stay cool during the hot months. Full video review included!

5. Kai’s Spinners

Work on your ninja skill of Fire with Kai’s Spinners.

The first interactive kids area at the entrance of Ninjago World, kids can practice their fire spins on these self-powered spinners. It’s a great place for kids to get out a burst of energy – lots of outdoor play space and a squishy floor (in case of any dizzy spills).

4. Zane’s Temple Build

You can’t miss the towering Water & Ice ninja skill station at Zane’s Temple

Build. With an impressive LEGO sculpture of mountains and beautiful Asian temple architecture, kids can find plenty of LEGO bricks to build their own creation right on the temple base. My daughter loved the freedom to build to her heart’s desire here, interacting with other kids and encouraging teamwork to create master builds.

3. Cole’s Rock Climb

Harness the power of Earth at Cole’s Rock Climb.

Covered in the shade, kids can walk across the climbing wall, reaching targets and mastering hand-eye coordination. And no worries, the kids rock climb going across the area, not up 🙂

2. Jay’s Lightning Drill

This has to be one of the coolest new Ninjago World areas.

Mastering your Lightning ninja skills, kids can have a blast at Jay’s Lightning Drill. An advance version of Whack-a-Mole, kids hit lightning bolt targets as they light up, before time runs out. This area is shaded as well, perfect place for parents to put their feet up for a few minutes.

Ninjago the ride tips

1. Ninjago the Ride

The ultimate test of ninja skills is right here at Ninjago the Ride at the back of Ninjago World- the best for last, of course. Harnessing the power of Control, you and your family face an epic battle in this 4D action adventure!

Combining the best of video games and interactive ninja play, you use your hands to create lightning bolts, fireballs and more. I won’t lie, those hand movements take a little bit of skill. The first time on the ride, I was just flinging my hands all over the place like a hot mess. But the 2nd time, I realized there was a method to the madness. Here’s what movements you’ll need to master on this ride:

  • The Cobra: Hold your fingers together to form a snake’s head. Then strike your arm forward.
  • Chops of Fury: Hold both hands in front of you, palms facing each other. Make quick karate chops, alternating.
  • The Fireball Flinger: Clench your hand into a fist. Then thrust your arm forward while opening your fingers.
  • The Lightning Strike: Hold your arm out straight. Bend into a “V” and make a chopping motion.
  • The Shuriken Shuffle: Hold both hands in front of you, palms down, with your arms bent so they touch your chest. Chop outwards repeatedly.

Tips Ninjago the ride

Here are some tips to make the most of your Ninjago the Ride experience:

  • No minimum height requirement. My little 4-year old was able to ride this one with no problems.
  • Must be at least 48 inches to ride alone OR have an adult with you to ride.
  • The ride line is all inside in the comforts of air-conditioning. There are plenty of building areas while you wait in line too.
  • This ride requires interactive game play with ninja hand movements required to earn points, like a video game.
  • Ninjago the Ride is similar to Spiderman for the cart movement/screen visuals and Toy Story Mania for the video game action.
  • There’s strobe/flashing lights, high action battle sequences, loud noises and darkness. Keep this in mind if taking little ones.
  • Best tip from a LEGOLAND Florida Ninjago the Ride operator, the best way to earn points is to perform very small hand movements right over top of the sensor (which is right below your hands/above your lap). This saves energy and allows your family maximum point earning potential. The further away you get from the sensor, the more work/movement required.

Ninjago world character meet and greet

And don’t miss out on the LEGO character spot right outside of the ride! You can meet the Ninjago LEGO characters, such as Naya for some great photos and memories.
