SeaWorld Halloween Spooktacular 2014 | 7 Best Family Tips #SeaWorldSpooktacular
Weekends just got a little more FUN at SeaWorld Orlando! We just enjoyed an amazing weekend at SeaWorld Orlando’s Halloween Spooktacular 2014 filled with treats, friendly spooks and of course, all of our animal encounters we could handle. I have 7 of the BEST Family Moments to grab at SeaWorld Spooktacular 2014, as well as some great family tips to make the most out of your Spooktacular visit!
Candy! Candy! Candy!
The Candy is overflowing at the SeaWorld Orlando Spooktacular this year! Be sure to check out all 12 of the Candy Stations marked along the SeaWorld Spooktacular Trail. Each station is marked and has candy ranging from Hershey chocolates to Twizzlers to classic Lemonheads! No worries about bringing bags either. SeaWorld provides adorable Trick-or-Treat bags perfect for holding those goodies. And the best part is getting the practice in for the big Halloween Day. My girl was loving picking up special treats! And I love capturing the moments! With the weather being as hot as it is, you’ll want to eat or store those chocolates quickly to avoid meting issues!
Family Tip: Want to make the most of those candy lines? Head to the back of the park by Shamu Stadium viewing area! Most of the folks will be clogged up by the entrance of SeaWorld and the beginning of the candy line. If you start at the back of the park, you’ll be able to skip most of the lines 🙂
Party Zone for Kids…of all ages!
The Penelope’s Party Zone is where it was hopping! Check out SeaWorld’s Bayside area and explore bubbles, fountains, music and kids activities! There’s a chance to try out the 3 new SeaWorld Mobile Apps via tablets, coloring stations, a live DJ and dancers, tons of characters for photo ops, and of course FUN!
Family Tip: Come down during the heat of the day to cool off under the shade of the Bayside Stadium. There’s cold drinks, food and lots of entertainment available while you dance, play and explore.

Dine with Shamu
If you get the chance to add it into your day, I highly recommend the unique Dine With Shamu Halloween Spooktacular Brunch. Enjoy a delicious menu of seasonal items while sitting at a reserved table that brings you up close to majestic killer whales and Halloween surprises — a family photo with a Halloween Spooktacular frame, a free cookie decorating kit and a trick-or-treat bag with goodies. It’s a great way to enjoy Shamu in a whole new Halloween Experience.
Family Tip: Be sure to get reservations in early! With only a few weekends to enjoy this unique experience, you may run out of time! Prices start at $24 for this experience.
Picture Perfect Moments
With amazing Halloween decorations, dozens of great characters and a world of magical undersea adventure, you won’t find a shortage of any picture taking opportunities here! Bring your kids in costume to grab a Halloween Picture Perfect Moment before the big Halloween Day! Make sure to take the time out to get at least one family pic too 🙂
Family Tip: Try to snag your pic with Shamu and the Halloween Spooktacular set up at the front of the park EARLY! Lines will get long as people file in.
Cookie Decorating
In need of a sweet treat? Check out the Spooktacular Cookie Decorating Kits located near the Bayside Stadium walkway. Kids will get their own giant sugar cookie, candy decorations and cold drink to enjoy. With a nice price tag of only $5.50, my girl really loved decorating and eating her cookie masterpiece!
Family Tip: Please note that there are Reese’s Pieces in the Cookie Kit. If your child has a peanut allergy, please take the caution!
See Your Favorite Sesame Street Characters Get in the Spooky Spirit
This was definitely one of the highlights of our Spooktacular visit. Cool off in the Seaport Theater and enjoy the Sesame Street’s Count Down to Halloween musical celebration! This show is filled with your favorite Sesame Street characters as they sing and dance to some not-so-scary music. My 20 month old was LOVING every moment and became a dancing queen during the show! Big smiles and memories all around! We really enjoyed this well done show!
Family Tip: Come early and stay late! The theater will fill quickly as folks try to get some relief from the Florida heat (and the AC does feel good!). After the show, hurry outside and around the corner to get in line to meet the Sesame Street characters!
End the day with a Dance Party!
Come on back to the front of the park to end the day with a dance party at the Village Square. Meet Princess Penelope and her gang, dance away with bubbles, music and celebration for the Spooktacular Day!
Family Tip: No worries what your hair looks like or if folks are going to laugh at you. Get down and boogie with your kids!
