Pear Up Your Sports Team for FREE Sponsorships #SafeSkinSports
2014 is expected to be a BIG sports year for us. And no, I’m not talking professional. I’m talking about my 5 year old son. Daddy already has his eye on fall soccer, spring baseball (aka graduation from tee ball), and summer basketball and swim. All of this is on top of his milestone year of Kindergarten starting tomorrow. Why the crazy schedule? Because sports provides something for my son beyond just our family niche. Teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love of the game.
You know as much as any other mom that participating in these sports seasons is NOT cheap. In fact, I had absolutely NO idea just how expensive things can be, especially when it comes to something like uniforms.
Did you know that there’s an easy and FREE way to get sponsorships for your youth sports teams? In fact, Safeskin Youth Sports Wraps is sponsoring youth sports teams across the country by providing funds toward the purchase of team apparel. How is this possible? Safeskin Youth Sports Wraps has teamed up with PearUp.com to make your team’s dreams a reality.
I know what you’re thinking. What’s the catch? Well first, let me tell you about PearUp.com. Check out this short video to explain how it works.
About Pear
Pear is a social engagement platform that helps groups earn sponsorships from brands – for free. Pear matches up sponsors with groups and organizations within the community, and even big name brands. Sponsors have money to donate, but they don’t always know how or where to donate it. So, Pear works as the middleman to help connect sponsors and groups in need. The goal is to find a way to make sponsorships easy for both parties.
How Does Pear Work?
Pear helps the group leader create a Pear. The group leader then invites others to join the Pear. Groups earn sponsorship money by creating a Pear for their group and sharing with others who complete digital incentives to earn more money (more on that in a second). Each group can earn up to $1,000 within a 10-day time frame. That $1,000 can be used toward team apparel.
Each team member completes digital steps on behalf of Safeskin to earn dollars – things like liking Safeskin on Facebook, following Safeskin on Instagram or signing up for an email. For every step team members complete, they’ll get points (aka dollars) towards their team goal. The more tasks you complete, the more dollars you earn for your sponsorship. At the end of the 10-day period, group leaders claim an online certificate for the amount earned redeemable at any Pear printer. You get to keep whatever amount you earn. It’s zero cost to you, and no are donations required. It’s completely free to participate. To date, there are more than 1,400 participants and 100+ Pears.

Check out the Sahuaro Fastpitch Softball Team looking to raise $1000, with less than 24 hours left! This non profit organization is more than 50% towards their goal of providing free sponsored tees for girls aged 5-18. Your few seconds of support activities (liking on Facebook, etc.) will help them reach their goal, all for FREE!
The fine print:
- Group award (credit toward custom t-shirts or other custom apparel) valid at any participating Pear printer partner.
- Requires application of 3″x 4″ Proudly sponsored by + brand logo on apparel alongside your custom design (it looks good!).
- Limit one sponsorship/award per group; no cash value.
- Adult sports teams (participants 19 years of age and older) are subject to cancellation.

Well, that is awesome. We do not have any kids in any sports but this is def worth sharing!

My son isn’t in sports yet, but I know it can be expensive, just from my days of middle/high school/college sports. This is great for young teams – especially if your child is playing multiple sports!

Any program that supports and encourages children’s organizations are a win in my book. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Robin (Masshole Mommy) says
That is pretty awesome. My kids are in private lessons for karate, so this wouldn’t help us, but it’s great for the kids in town sports.

Love this organization! Love what they do! Love how they match brands up with groups who need some extra help, and come through for teams!
Stefany says
My kids play for a private school so there are no sponsors needed. I love this idea though. There are so many great teams that could use the help!

What an awesome program to help kids in sports. I played soccer my whole life so I understand how difficult it can be to find sponsors.
Chrysa says
I think this is such a great program. It seems way more effective than team members having to sell candy bars or pizzas!

I love this idea! I was in charge of fundraising for one of my son’s sports teams and it is hard work. I love a program like this that makes it easier.
