New Carrabba’s Small Plates for Every Family Moment

I love my in-laws. I am so fortunate to have family that not only live close to us, but love spending time with us too. And when we all get together, you know that it’s going to be a good time. Great memories and side splitting laughter are always surrounded by delicious food. But as the kids get older and our lives get busy, it can be tough to accommodate 13 people’s schedules. We seem to get together less and less, perhaps for a holiday or special occasion. So when I invited my in-laws and brother and sister-in-law for a night at our favorite restaurant, the immediate thought was “What’s the occasion?”

“There’s none. We’re just enjoying a family night together.”

Sometimes we feel like we need something special to happen just to enjoy a moment together as a family. But honestly, why don’t we just get together BECAUSE we are family? We can still enjoy a great night of good company, good laughs and good food, all within our family budget. Check out why the new Carrabba’s Small Plates are perfect for sharing every family moment…and of course, drool worthy pictures.

6 Small Plates for Family Sharing

Our family loves to eat. And not just eat, but eat good food. That’s where Carrabba’s comes in. It’s the place that our family trusts for a delicious meal every time. When the new Carrabba’s Small Plates rolled out, I was already picturing a glass of wine in hand and being surrounded with family as we ate. And that’s exactly what we did. 6 new dishes perfect for sharing, we caught up on our lives the best way we knew how.

Bruschette Siciliani

YUM! Homemade bread topped in delicious…you can never go wrong. The new Bruschette Siciliani comes with oven–baked ciabatta bread served with diced tomatoes, fresh basil, oregano, red onions and kalamata olives marinated in olive oil and red wine vinegar then topped with ricotta salata. Aka yum served with yum, topped with yum and eaten together with yum.

Grilled Asparagus with Prosciutto

I am a sucker for anything wrapped in prosciutto. So when you wrap wood-grilled asparagus in prosciutto and fontina, drizzled with balsamic glaze…you get your serving of veggies, right?

Mozzarella Rustica

This was the most surprising Small Plate of the night. Thinking that I was in for the usual mozzarella-type-ball, this little burst of flavors definitely became an instant favorite. Crispy bites of mozzarella and ricotta with Italian herbs and panko breadcrumbs served with marinara sauce, I could have ordered 5 plates of this. Literally.

Meatballs & Ricotta

This was definitely one of my favorite dishes from our last Carrabba’s visit. How could you go wrong with homemade meatballs, right? Simmered in our pomodoro sauce with ricotta and romano cheese, I was a little sad to share this dish 🙂

Three-Cheese & Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms

Hands down this was my favorite bite of the night. Stuffed with sausage, spinach, ricotta, romano, mozzarella and Italian breadcrumbs served over our tomato cream sauce…aka heaven stuffed in a mushroom. I wish I could have 10 of these served over pasta!

Carrabbas lettuce wraps

Italian Lettuce Wraps

Remember this dish from my last visit? We were happy to share these Italian Lettuce Wraps with our family, and they seriously enjoyed them! Wood-grilled chicken tossed with vegetables and ricotta salata in our Mediterranean lemon vinaigrette. Served over romaine lettuce, drizzled with a port wine reduction – yup, just as good as last time!

The plates look true Italian. I used to work at Olive Garden, and the plates do not look true Italian, although still very delicious.
