9 Reasons to Eat at Marlow’s Tavern Waterford Lakes Orlando

You may notice some changes in scenery if you wander over to Waterford Lakes Town Center in East Orlando. The once very empty section of parking lot has been transformed into a restaurant. But this hidden gem of an eatery is nothing like the other 20-30 something restaurants in this busy plaza.

Marlow’s Tavern has just opened it’s doors to East Orlando this summer, and the deliciousness inside will have you finding more excuses to visit this busy shopping plaza. I have 9 Reasons you need to eat at Marlow’s Tavern Waterford Lakes Orlando. Let’s drool over the pics together.

Marlows tavern best appetizer

1. The Thickest, Cheesiest, Most Flavorful Nachos…Like Ever

I said nachos, but when these monstrous pieces of cheesy goodness were placed before me, I thought they had mistaken my nachos for pizza. Add tender bites of crab and rock shrimp and you have a delicious choice for an appetizer. The Shrimp & Crab “Nacho” Plate at Marlow’s Tavern was one of my favorite dishes of the night.

Go ahead, high five yourself for your amazing find.

2. Start with Something Crunchy

Need a fry upgrade?

The Asparagus Fries at Marlow’s Tavern definitely hit the spot. The ranch dipping sauce was a cool and refreshing addition to the summer menu. I think I could even convince my kids to eat these fries.

3. Loaded Homemade Kettle Chips.

Two words, bacon and gorgonzola. Not sure why I have missed out on this amazing combo all of these years. So thank you to the J.T.’s Kettle Chips for my introduction. These “adult” homemade chips definitely make this appetizer classy.

Betcha can’t eat just one.

4. A Burger That Means Business

When I want a burger, I want a thick, juicy manly burger. That’s exactly what you will find with the house Tavern Burger. Simple seasoning and delicious homemade tomato jam complete this classic American fare.

5. Healthier Options That Still Wow on Flavor

I’m not usually one to choose the Grilled Chicken on the menu, but I was pleasantly surprised by the Grilled Chicken Stack at Marlow’s Tavern. Perfect grill marked chicken breast sits on top of a squash “carbonara” (aka the famous zoodles), spinach, bacon and sun dried tomato sauce, Parmesan and drizzled with olive oil, this healthier Tavern favorite gets a winning smile from me. I definitely would order again.

6. The BEST Shrimp & Grits I’ve Ever Eaten

No, seriously. This prize winning Shrimp & Grits dish transforms your usually mushy bowl into an amazing crunchy mouthful. Cheesy Grits definitely taste better in 3D. It’s no wonder this is one of the most popular dishes at Marlow’s Tavern. I could eat this Every. Single. Day.

7. End on a Sweet Note

A meal is not complete without dessert. And the Marlow’s Crème Brulee was the perfect ending to our summer meal. Light, sweet and perfectly torched sugar glaze on top, the bowl was suddenly “mysteriously” empty.

8. The Happy Hour

It’s about time that Waterford Lakes brought in the outdoor atmosphere. While the shopping plaza gives off the outdoor mall appeal, the restaurants have been lacking in a place to sit and watch the world go by. Marlow’s Tavern is one of the only few patio spaces that are inviting their diners to enjoy the Waterford Lakes area.

Featuring a full outdoor bar, high and low tables, live music and Happy Hour specials (including girl’s night!), this is the place to meet and mingle in East Orlando.

9. The locale

In the middle of Waterford Lakes Town Center, Marlow’s Tavern overlooks the busy main strip of road and is the welcoming sight to folks leaving the movie theaters. The hustle and bustle of the area doesn’t phase this eatery. They revel in it.

While having posted “hours,” Marlow’s Tavern ebbs and flows with the mood of the people. Dinner sometimes doesn’t start until 9 pm (especially on those movie opening nights). The feel is to make this restaurant for the Waterford Lakes Town Center, not the other way around.

So whether you’re looking for late night eats after a movie, the perfect place for Happy Hour, or a classy dinner date, the new Marlow’s Tavern at Waterford Lakes is the place to eat, gather and enjoy a night out in East Orlando.

Be sure to check out number sweet 16 in the middle of Waterford Lakes Town Center (across from the movie theater).
