Trust me as a busy mom with experience. There’s nothing more satisfying than getting the holiday shopping done on your own schedule, and not because the clock is ticking. Not quite ready to hit the stores just yet? Start now by making a list. Who do you have to buy for? What ideas do you have for them? I keep a handy list right on my phone so as the ideas start popping in my head at odd times (like on a jog, or changing the baby or picking up milk at the store) I have my phone right there to jot those ideas down. Less stress, less pressure, and more focus on getting things done, I can make this holiday shopping season much more FUN for me by starting early.
Crank the Holiday Music
I’m certainly NOT the person that loves playing Christmas music year round. But there is something magical about those jingle bells during this time of year. Belting out those familiar childhood songs in the car definitely puts me in the right holiday frame of mind. Just try not to smile when you hear jingle bells playing for the 141st time!
Have a Plan
Snacks, check. Water, check. A napped baby, check! Having a game plan for your holiday shopping is essential to manage your time and your sanity! be sure to check to make sure you have all of your shopping essentials (don’t forget that list!) and can navigate your way for a successful visit.

I don’t which I like better… the blue light specials or the Freebie Saturday events for kids. It sure does make shopping more fun and easier since I usually dread the holiday time

I do most of my holiday shopping online at home while wearing my pajamas but the return of Bluelight Specials really makes me want to visit a Kmart store. I remember how cool I felt every time I would be around to catch a surprise deal.

These are all great ideas on getting motivated for the holiday shopping with little ones, I know for myself I do try to do it alone but I have had at times one of my grandchildren, which most of the time I usually give them a toy or book to read while shopping..

I would add to that to get plenty of sleep and have an emergency snack or snacks on hand. It’s easy to get cranky anytime you’re tired and hungry.

Holiday shopping for me have never not been fun but its extra fun when you have great deals! I havent shopped at Kmart in a while (not too many in Atlanta anymore) but its good to know it has some saving deals this season!
