Homemade Sugar Scrub + Tips for 4th of July Smooth Legs

My in-laws celebrate their 52nd wedding anniversary this 4th of July. We always enjoy heading to their house for a big holiday bash! A pool party, the smell of fresh grilled food and great reminiscing of the olden days greet us every year. The night always ends with a spectacular fireworks show on the beach. A great party like this deserves 4th of July smooth legs!

I’ve got 3 easy tips for confidence building smooth legs this summer holiday season, including an all-natural sugar scrub.

Exfoliate

Did you know that exfoliating before shaving gets you an even closer shave? Inspired by the upcoming holiday, I created this homemade all-natural SPARKLER sugar scrub! Perfect for a hostess gift or to use for yourself, I love the natural colors and sparkly

Homemade All-Natural SPARKLER Sugar Scrub

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of white sugar, divided
  • 3/4 coconut oil, divided
  • 4 TSP lime juice, divided
  • 2 TSBP pureed strawberries
  • 2 TBSP pureed blueberries
  • 1 mason jar, 2 cup size

Directions:

  1. Combine 1/2 cup of sugar, 1/4 cup coconut oil, 1 tsp. lime juice and pureed blueberries in small bowl. Add to bottom of mason jar, spreading evenly. This is your “blue” layer.
  2. Combine 1 cup of sugar, 1/4 cup of coconut oil and 2 tsp. of lime juice in another small bowl. Spread evenly on top of the blueberry layer. This is your “white.”
  3. Combine the remaining 1/2 cup of sugar, 1/4 cup of coconut oil, 1 tsp. of lime juice, and 2 TBSP of strawberries in a small bowl. Add to top layer of the mason jar.

Makes 2 cups. Store in air tight container in refrigerator up to 1-2 weeks.

Great looking scrub! I’m paler than paper, so I have to use a little natural tan lotion to help my pigments!

I don’t tan – at all – so not even a lotion can help me. I use Skintimate like it’s going out of style. And I really need to try this sugar scrub!

Ooh I love that scrub – I’m going to have to try it. I like to give my legs a good scrub before shaving them. I also moisturize them all the time so they don’t get ashy looking.
