Why Hairy Legs Are In This Summer
Moms, put down that razor. Because in case you haven’t heard, Hairy Legs Are IN This Summer. That’s right, hairy legs are all the craze this season and you are going to be among the FIRST to know about this hot new trend! So read on with my top reasons why hairy legs are all the craze!
1. A Drive in a Convertible Feels More Free With Your Hair Blowing in the Wind
It’s lies, I tell ya. All this time they’re telling you it’s the hair on your head blowing in the wind that gives you a thrill. But Moms, put on those sort shorts and let your hairy legs enjoy the breeze! It’s really invigorating!
2. Fake a Great Beach Tan
Those dark hairs on your legs are more than just show. From a distance, they give your legs a tan glow that will be all the envy of your friends this summer! Go dark with hairy legs!
3. Move Faster at a Theme Park
Need to get closer to the Frozen princesses? Just rub your hairy legs up next to your neighbor. The theme park guests will gladly move aside to let you by.
4. Summer Spa Massages Will Never Be the Same
Ever wanted to thank your masseuse for their hard work? Did you know that your hairy legs serve has a great hand massage for them? That’s right, they will totally enjoy the prickly massage thank you!
5. Summer Night Dates Bring You Closer Together
Long summer nights means lots of opportunities to get closer to your loved one. My husband just loves a little footsies under the table. But add the surprise factor of your hairy legs, he’ll be putty in your hands in no time.
6. Hair Grows Back Faster The More Times You Shave , So Slow Down This Summer!
This is not an excuse. It’s a fact. The less times you shave, the slower the hair grows back. So take a break from that razor this summer and slow down with the season! Go a week or 2 without shaving like me. You’ll feel so much better!
Ok, so for real, this is my sarcastic view on my summer and how some days I feel like I don’t even have enough time to shave! And confession, I think I’ve gone up to 2 weeks myself without shaving this summer…and I still wore my shorts! YIKES! So join my laugh, share with someone that could use a smile and hey, maybe go a few days without shaving! Join the Hairy Leg Movement this summer! 🙂
Why do you think Hairy Legs are IN this summer?
Please note this post is all in jest and meant to be a funny outlook on my life and the lack of shaving my legs. Please don’t send me hate mail. Be sure to follow Raising Whasians via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and YouTube for more reviews, giveaways and more.

For myself, hairy legs and armpits occasionally too are in, because I have been suffering from a rare, immensely painful nerve disorder for three years. I had an unsuccessful brain surgery last year, and this summer when I’m not curled up in the fetal position in bed, I am spending time with my girls, especially because my eldest starts 2nd grade in just one week, and a few days after that my “baby” will turn 3!
Summer has flown by, despite the fact I have spent every moment of it in pain, doing freelance work whenever I can, starting a blog and raising money, because the only way to ensure my second brain surgery is done correctly is to go to a team of neurosurgeon specialists in Pittsburgh who only study my rare nerve disorder. I live in Southern Arizona, so I’m trying to raise and earn the money needed for the round trip flight plus a five-night hotel stay for my husband while I learn to walk and eat again, after the surgery is completed.
I have so much hope pinned on this being a successful surgery, because the relatively few people in the world, like myself, that have Geniculate Neuralgia ( a constant, horrid stabbing sensation in my right ear) and those that have Trigeminal Neuralgia, which is related to mine, but affects people differently, only get a chance at 3 brain surgeries in their lifetime. If this next surgery doesn’t work either the chances that the constant. life-altering pain I’ve been fighting may never stop.
I didn’t mean to comment so seriously to your fun post! I also rarely shave because my balance is terrible, and I will never be able to perfect the leg up on the side of the bathtub women are shown doing in razor, or shaving gel commercials! Plus, the time I save not shaving my legs can now be spent getting more sleep, which is a definite plus, watching my girls play and learning natural remedies to make my world, and my husband’s world of chronic pain due to a long-ago injury and disability in the Army, somewhat more bearable for all of us. When I am well we will finally be able to grow our homestead- adding two milking goats and many native plants and herbs. There is simply too much life to be living (good and bad) to stop and take the time to shave!
Thanks for this fantastic post!
