Why Your Family Should Visit SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium
If you were to ask my kids if they wanted to go a theme park for the day or an aquarium – you may be surprised at their answer.
My kids have always loved animals. Thankfully, we live in Orlando, one of the best places to experience wildlife up close and personal. So when the opportunity came up for us to partner with SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium, our family couldn’t wait to go for the first time. Today I’m sharing out top 5 Reasons Why Your Family Should Visit SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium too – whether you’re a local like me or a tourist that loves all that Orlando has to offer. Be sure to put this place on your Family Travel Bucket List!
I love Orlando. There’s not a day or weekend that goes by without something for our little family of 4 to do. In the midst of the tourist capital of the world, we are so fortunate to play tourist in our own hometown too – especially on my son’s birthday weekend. An 8th birthday at SEA LIFE Aquarium turned out to be more of a SURPRISE than we thought!
Check out what we discovered in our day.
25,000 Square Feet of Exploration
Lesson learned from my family’s experience: don’t judge a book by it’s cover. When we walked into SEA LIFE Aquarium, I expected a teeny place where we would leave in about 20 minutes. Almost 2 hours later, we finally emerged. This aquarium is so much larger than I thought, with tank after tank of wonderful species, educational moments, and interactive displays. Definitely the biggest surprise of our day!
Unique Aquarium Experience
More than 5,000 animals. 360-degree and 180-degree tunnels. Floor to ceiling displays. Interactive touch tanks. Playground for kids. Sharks, sea horses, stingrays, jellies, a rescue sea turtle, tons of colorful fish. SEA LIFE Orlando really goes above and beyond to make sure that families feel comfortable in this unique aquarium environment. My kids loved getting right up close with their favorite sea creatures. And we could have spent all day at the 360-degree tunnel with sharks swimming above and below us!
Exclusive Family Friendly Events
SEA LIFE Orlando aims to make your family’s aquarium experience memorable with exclusive family events. For October 2016, the Octonauts have joined the SEA LIFE Orlando fun! With interactive activities, stickers, meet and greets and even a fun prize for completion of their Octonauts adventure, kids will love exploring all that SEA LIFE Orlando has to offer with their favorite Octonauts characters. Included with your regular SEA LIFE Orlando admission:
- Character Meet and Greets with Captain Barnacles & Kwazii
- Octonauts Training Academy for Kids – fun and educational kids activities throughout the aquarium as your children learn about sea creatures and ocean habitats, all while becoming one of the Octonauts crew!
- Look for fun Octonauts character signs throughout the aquarium for your next assignment.
- Earn stickers for completed “missions” and a Octonauts crew hat & certificate for completion of all 6 activities. (FYI the last assignment is in the gift shop, so be sure to grab the other 5 tasks and see everything you want to see before heading out!)
- Scheduled dates through the month of October 2016: Oct. 14-16, Oct. 21-23, Oct. 28-30
Needless to say, my Octonauts kids LOVED searching for their next assignments, learning something new about their favorite sea creatures and earning their status as one of the Octonauts crew! We had such a fun day exploring the aquarium with one of our favorite TV shows. Find out more info on select Octonauts Training Academy days HERE.
Located in the Middle of the Orlando Action
SEA LIFE Orlando is not only an amazing place for families to visit, but there’s so much going on, right around the area! The Orlando Eye and Madame Tussauds Wax Museum are within footsteps of SEA LIFE Orlando. And the Eye plaza is filled with shops, eateries and entertainment too. It’s one of our favorite places for a family picnic!
One-of-a-Kind Family Memories
SEA LIFE Orlando gave our family the opportunity to be tourists in our own town. With so much to see and discover, there was not one moment when our family was bored. We absolutely loved our visit to SEA LIFE Orlando and can’t wait to go back for the next big event.
