5 Easy Family Dinner Tips with Uncle Ben’s Flavored Grains

Family dinners can be chaotic, haphazard and thrown together at times, especially with busy family schedules. Wanting to make family dinners much easier this summer? Check out these 5 easy family dinner tips from planning to cleaning up so you can keep up with all of the flurry of activity this summer. And see what is our new favorite quick side dish for the season!

1. Plan Weekly Meals

Planning weekly meals does more than give you sanity during the week. It also help your stick to your weekly budget. I like writing out our meal plans up on a whiteboard. Since I’m a visual person, this really helps help me see the whole week of dinners at the same time. Then I can pick up groceries inbetween mom duties.

2. Try a New Crockpot Recipe

Nothing says easy family meal than the trusty old crock pot! This appliance has made many a delicious meal for our family, without us needing to be home! Try a new crockpot recipe this summer, like my new Crockpot Citrus & Herb Whole Chicken to jazz up your crock pot nights!

3. Have the Kids Set the Table

Don’t underestimate the ability of your kids! With a little encouragement and praise, you can have the kids easily setting the table while you are preparing the meal. My kids love helping mommy in the kitchen, and with a rewarding meal and possible ice cream treats at the end, that’s incentive enough to make sure we have our forks, napkins and placemats all set for dinner.

4. Make Clean Up a Breeze

Hate clean up? Me too!! Consider swapping meal nights with a fellow family, neighbor or friend. Then you can also swap clean up nights! Consider using reusable bottles for dinner drinks (we love staying hydrated all day long) and making sure that everyone clears their own plate at the end of the meal.

I’d like to try the UNCLE BEN’S® Brown Rice & Quinoa Roasted Red Pepper. I recently tried some crackers with brown rice and red pepper and they were great. I can only imagine that Uncle Ben’s rice would be very good too 🙂
