Delray Sands Resort Review | 7 Reasons for Families to Stay in Paradise

So it was a week ago when I looked at the calendar and realized….we have yet to go on a family vacation this summer. What?! I know, where has the summer gone? Running out of summer days and opportunities for a little family getaway, I knew that we needed a little family R&R. And with South Florida covered in 1,000s of possible family getaway options, we were so excited to head to Delray Sands Resort in Delray Beach. Haven’t heard of this private family getaway spot yet? Check out our full Delray Sands Resort Review, including 7 reasons why your family needs to stay in paradise!

Delray beach hotel

I’m not sure how familiar you are with the area, but it is not your typical South Florida at all. Delray Beach was actually just named the #3 best seaside town by Coastal Living so it is fun and energetic but also very family-friendly and laid-back. To me, I found it at the very heart of “eclectic paradise.” There’s enough privacy for a romantic getaway but enough laughter for a family vacation. This boutique resort sits along an exclusive section of beach that offers a comfortable 115 guestrooms and suites along with it’s signature restaurant, Latitudes. And today, we’re talking about everything Delray Sands Resort offers for their family visitors.

1. Private Beach Access

South Florida has some of the most amazing beaches. And thankfully, the Delray Sands Resort has one of the most coveted private South Florida beaches. Along a small strip of about 3 miles is the beach to millionaires, fancy resorts and sea turtles! Relax in the sands of luxury, splash in the ocean waves, and enjoy your exclusive view of sunrise.

2. Pool + Pool + Pool =

Family fun! Not one, not two but three places to enjoy the Florida weather, Delray Sands has the pool area for you. The wading pool features a smaller circular pool for your littles to splash in safety. The larger swimming pool is perfect for swimming, splashing and relaxing. And the hot tub with included waterfall is a great way to wind down. Enough water for everyone to enjoy!

3. Modern Comforts of Home

Our guestroom was the perfect spot to stretch out our family of four. A large room with desk area, sitting chair, dresser, closet and plenty of extra storage, we even had a large area to put our portable crib. But the nicest surprise was the Keurig in our room, with included K-cups! Just like home! The bathroom was spacious with a good sized shower. And of course, the beds were plush. We all slept well. Free Wi-Fi, TV, even USB chargers were a nice touch as well.

4. Quiet Secluded Feel

There were definitely moments during our stay where I felt like we were one of the few folks staying at the resort. The comfortable silence was welcoming from the usual packed family resorts with babies crying and parents screaming. I even found my kids relaxing at times, just taking in the atmosphere.

5. But Still Plenty of Activity

But don’t let the quiet discourage you from coming. There was definitely a good mix of families, singles and couples visiting the area. A perfect poolside bar, lots of comfy lounge chairs, and an active dining room.

6. Family-Friendly Staff

It’s not often that I would boast or even remember the service staff from a hotel stay, but Delray Sands Resort definitely greeted you like family. From the front desk to the beach chair rental attendee to the valet, we were treated like we were “home.” By the end of the stay, even my son made friends with the lead valet.

7. Delicious food with an ocean view

So what’s the catch? Well, I don’t really have one. The only downside to our stay was the mandatory valet parking. But a steal at only $4 a day and with very limited parking in an exclusive piece of property, I actually understood the necessity of the car organization. There is also a $25 resort fee per day as well. So keep that in mind. But that does include your towels and 2 beach chairs (nice surprise for this parent!). Other than some rainy weather, our stay was perfect. I definitely would bring my family back to Delray Sands Resort for another Florida staycation. Comfortable, eclectic and family-friendly, it was a great way to spend some of our last days of summer. So glad we booked a family vacation at Delray Sands Resort!
