Cascade Platinum | My Dishwasher Experiment #CascadeShiningReviews
I love a good experiment. But I have to admit, Cascade had me pulled into one of the hardest family experiments I’ve ever had to conduct. Why is that? Because an OCD person + dirty dishes = one paranoid mommy. If you’re a mom like me, then I know exactly how you do dishes. We have little faith in our dishwasher, tiring endlessly my “pre-washing” our dishes in the sink before placing them in the dishwasher for the REAL clean. Cascade challenged me to the ultimate dishwasher experiment with the new Cascade Platinum product line.
Here’s how the experiment was conducted:
1. Invite 10 folks over for a dinner party, check!
I just had to say party. Family and friends were eager to check out the new Cascade Platinum. Also curious about the “experiment,” I had lots of folks asking if Cascade Platinum was a real time saver when it comes to clean dishes!
2. Make some of the messiest and most delicious comfort foods on the planet, homemade mac n’ cheese and brownies!
I was given specific instructions to make some of the messiest comfort foods for my party. I made the brownies the night before…then LEFT the pan and the stuck on brownie bits to wash 24 hours later. You can imagine the hyperventilation I was feeling leaving my pan without soaking! The day of the party, I made Homemade Mac n’ Cheese with ooey gooey cheese. Then instead of washing off the cheesy bits right away, I left them stuck-on until it was time to run the dishwasher.
3. After eating, load up the dishwasher with your party guests’ dishes and your cooking pans, WITHOUT pre-washing.
In fact, I was only allowed to shake off excess large chunks off of each plate/pot. No rinsing, no soaking, no extra dish washing of any kind was to occur! More hyperventilation! Just load your dishes into the dishwasher as you normally would.
4. Add Cascade Platinum
The new Cascade Platinum line of products are specially formulated for the ultimate dish cleaning experience with 2 new products for your family.
Just add one ActionPac and fill your Rinse Aid section of your dishwasher with the new Cascade Platinum. Then, it’s time to let go of pre-washing your dishes! Cascade Platinum works best when food soil is left on the dishes because its special enzymes latch onto that food, breaking it down so it can wash away. If there’s no food soil, there’s nothing for the enzymes to attach to and your detergent isn’t working its hardest for you. The special combination of products achieve a powerful clean for your dishes AND your dishwasher, even for 24 hour old stuck-on food!
I know what you’re thinking. Where does all of that food go? Doesn’t all of that caked on food end up damaging my dishwasher and pipes? There is a garbage disposal built into the bottom of almost all dishwashers that works exactly like the disposal in your sink. The food is easily removed and washed away without damaging effects.
5. Enjoy sparkling clean dishes and dishwasher, all with LESS work for you!
I was in shock. I couldn’t believe that Cascade Platinum removed all of that stuck-on cheese from my pot, my bowl, all of those plates. And the 24 hour old brownie pan was sparkling clean too. What will this mean? We will be saving water, time and effort pre-cleaning our dishes! Can you imagine what us mommies can do with all of this extra time now? No more pre-washing….who would have thought?! Thanks to Cascade Platinum, we can enjoy dishes again, all with less work!

Scalloped potatoes. I bake them and when they’re done, there is a layer on my casserole dish that just doesn’t want to come clean, even after soaking and scrubbing.

Baked fish!!! We eat alot of salmon and unless I lay some aluminum foil in the pan, the skin always sticks to the pan when baking. It is the worst, having to scrape and soak.
Jennifer Boehme says
Any stuck on food. I prewash my dishes, so whatever is left, need it gone. And the gooey watery substance left from other dishwashing agents, I want it gone also which is why this Cascade is better.
