Carrabba’s New Menu | Sharing Plates, Creating Memories

Eating family dinner these days is our lifeline.

With busy schedules pulling everyone in different directions, we rely on gathering around the dinner table to connect, really connect every day. But busy schedules do not always allow the luxury of dining at home. So where do you take a growing 7 year old boy, a picky 3 year old girl and two adults surviving parenthood?

Carrabba’s Italian Grill. Seriously one of our favorite places for a family meal, it’s a place where we can gather, eat and share memories from our day.

New shrimp dish Carrabbas

And speaking of sharing, the Carrabba’s new menu is perfect for families just like mine. With over 20 new menu items all made from scratch (the way it should be!), we are eating our way through family dinner. Find out why our family loves creating memories at Carrabba’s, including our favorite new plates that are perfect for sharing. Be sure to scroll down to grab your 20% off coupon too!

Carrabbas new menu review

Tomato Caprese with Fresh Burrata

Talk about FRESH. This new Carrabba’s appetizer is as delicious as it is beautiful. Fresh tomatoes and red onions are sliced and drizzled in balsamic glaze and extra virgin olive oil. The mountain of Burrata mozzarella cheese pairs perfectly with every bite. As our first intro to the Carrabba’s New Menu, we were overwhelmed with the bright notes this dish left on our family for the rest of the night. Definitely a great way to start our dinner, my husband is still talking about how we need to get this appetizer for our next visit…like every day.

Carrabbas small plates

The newest addition to the Carrabba’s menu is the new Small Plates section. Don’t be fooled by the word “small,” especially if you enjoy a few tastes of everything like I do. The 6 new Carrabba’s Small Plates are perfectly portioned and made for sharing with your family, all under $6 each! By ordering a few different options, we found ourselves indulging in perfect preview to our dinners as we chatted, laughed and shared great memories around the table.

Italian lettuc wraps Carrabbas

Italian Lettuce Wraps

The Italian Lettuce Wraps is the new Small Plate offering that was most recommended by my server (which by the way, he was excellent and so nice to my kids!). Chicken and veggies are tossed with a fresh Mediterranean lemon vinaigrette and served with fresh ricotta salata, I love how the lettuce to chicken proportions were spot on for a great crunch that’s bold with flavor and lighter on calories. It was unexpected for the whole dish to be served cold (for some reason I thought the meat would be hot since it’s wood grilled), so that was a surprise. But otherwise, definitely a great addition.

Meatballs & Ricotta

Can’t go wrong with meatballs. Simmered in pomodoro sauce and served warm in it’s own cast iron dish, I just love how the new Meatballs & Ricotta Small Plate screams authentic Italian. And with Ricotta and Parmesan cheese in every bite, you can’t go wrong. I definitely will be ordering this dish again. The 2 meatballs are a great portion size for my hungry kids, who both love a little extra food with their meals.

Prosciutto wrapped shrimp Carrabbas

Prosciutto Wrapped Shrimp

After fresh baked bread and delicious homemade soup (another reason why our family keeps coming back) it was time for entrees. Anytime I can order shrimp when we eat out, I do. It’s not something I get to cook often at home, so it’s always a welcome treat to have shrimp on the menu. The new Prosciutto Wrapped Shrimp at Carrabba’s is exactly the shrimp dish I was looking for.

Delicate slices of prosciutto wrapped around every jumbo shrimp, skewered and seasoned with lemon butter, the flavors definitely fulfilled my shrimp craving. It’s served over a bed of orzo pasta (my son asked me if it was rice, so it was also a fun teaching moment), a vegetable side and a grilled lemon wedge. I will definitely be ordering this dish again!

Veal chop Carrabbas

New Tuscan-Grilled Veal Chop

Basically, this is the biggest chop I have ever seen in my life. The portion size of the veal chop definitely exceeded both of our expectations. Thick, juicy and cooked to perfection, my husband (who was full two plates ago) still managed to finish off this 14 oz. new entrée as well. My husband chose to have his grilled chop served with Marsala sauce, which he really enjoyed. There’s other great preparation options too – another reason to love Carrabba’s!

Carrabbas dessert gelato

Gelato

We were not just hurting but HURTING at this point in the meal. But Carrabba’s added new desserts to the menu. And as the saying goes, there’s always room for dessert. My husband opted for the new Raspberry Gelato. Isn’t the color amazing? Served alongside an almond biscotti cookie, my daughter wouldn’t leave his side for the rest of the night. BFF’s.

Carrabbas new dessert cheesecake

Brule Ricotta Cheesecake

They had me a cheesecake. The creamy ricotta cheese texture gave this new cheesecake dessert a great twist for my sweet ending. Served with fresh strawberries and drizzled with a port wine reduction….heavenly! Both kids were stealing strawberries and laughing, it was the perfect ending to our family dinner.
