It must be the age, but my 5 year old son has a thing for creepy crawlers lately. Spiders are of special interest! So you can imagine his excitement when he heard about the new Animal Planet Real Scary Spiders App!

There are some things to be concerned about with this toy. Definitely keep away from little ones as the web retraction occurs sporadically. I wouldn’t want the babies to get blasted! The furry body also “sheds” with rough handling, so be mindful of the clean-up. And reminder that batteries are NOT included with this toy, so be sure to stock up on AAA and 9V. We haven’t had to change the batteries yet, and we’ve had for a few days now. That’s a plus!

All-in-all, while I definitely have the creeps from this new toy, my son is absolutely thrilled! He loves that he can play with his new remote controlled tarantula then play with his virtual ones in the new app. For a free app, this one definitely has lots of great features, educational value and entertainment!
