Disney’s Polynesian Bungalows Photo Tour & Fun Facts
How does Walt Disney World do a Moana movie screening? In style, of course! A magical Polynesian inspired movie night requires a visit to Disney’s Polynesian Resort! Not only did we get an early screening of Disney’s Moana movie on the shores of the Seven Seas Lagoon (did you miss my Moana movie review for parents – a spoiler-free review to see if it’s safe for your little ones?), but we also had an exclusive tour of the coveted bungalows – sitting over the water!
Check out my full Disney’s Polynesian Bungalows Photo Tour & Fun Facts that we learned about these amazing Disney vacation quarters – in celebration of Disney’s Moana, in theaters everywhere!
There are exactly 20 Polynesian Resort Bungalows that sit over the waters of the Seven Seas Lagoon. Each 2 bedroom/2bathoom bungalow sleeps up to 8 guests. Combining tropical décor and modern accommodations, Disney knows how to make your family feel right at home. Your private deck walkway opens to a front porch area. Step right up and press the doorbell. For Christmas, the bungalows feature 7 different Christmas songs when pressed.
There’s a master bedroom – featuring a king-sized bed, TV, & windows overlooking the Seven Seas Lagoon.
The master bathroom is impressively one of my favorite parts of the bungalows. A stone walk-in shower with rain showerhead, full sized whirlpool tub, and dual sinks overlooking a built-in TV into the mirror. #LikeaBoss
I loved finding a bit of Peter Pan inspired artwork over the toilet – with a nod to Ariel (just like the Peter Pan ride!) too. And yes, if you sit with the door open, you have perfect view of that mirror TV. #SeriouslyLikeaBoss
The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed with a single pull down bunk bed, TV as well.
The second bathroom is divided for guest comfort – separated into shower area with vanity and powder area with toilet. There’s also a stacked washer/dryer in the hall.
Walking into the kitchen/living space, you can’t help but notice the beautiful angled ceiling with wooden beams. A full modern kitchen (my dream kitchen) features modern stainless appliances, full range, oven, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, coffee maker and toaster. You’re fully equipped with dishes, glassware, and utensils – in case you want to do your own cooking.
The living room has a couch that pulls out into a queen sized bed,
a single bunk (check out the Electric Light Parade artwork painted in!), TV and sliding glass doors into the back porch.
Two words, plunge pool. Yes, every bungalow comes with it’s very own mini pool on the back porch. How perfect after a long day at the parks! Parents, there is a gate too so we can keep our little ones safe.
Sit-down patio furniture and the iconic 2 swinging tropical chairs complete the outdoor area. The back deck is seriously my favorite part of the bungalows. The wrap around back porch has a perfect view of the Seven Seas Lagoon (too dark to see when we visited, but you get the idea), allowing you to have a unique view of the Wishes Fireworks Show right from your room.
BONUS – the speakers on the porch play the fireworks soundtrack in-sync with the show, so your family won’t miss a beat!
I didn’t want to leave. Seriously. They had to pry me from the swing. What a unique and wonderful Disney experience for families! If you ever have the opportunity to stay here, it is a once-in-a-lifetime Disney bucket list item! But at a price tag of $2,200-$3,900 per night (half that price if you’re a Disney Vacation Club member) – it was time to say goodbye to the Disney’s Polynesian Bungalows.
As I cozy-ed up for my second screening of Moana, I was definitely feeling the island vibe. Getting to meet Moana & writer Jared Bush was definitely icing on the cake too. Make sure to check out my full non-spoiler Moana movie review for kids for more details about this Polynesian inspired film, now in theaters. And be sure to wave hi to the Walt Disney Disney Polynesian Resort Bungalows the next time that you cross the Seven Seas Lagoon!
Would you love to stay at Disney’s Polynesian Bungalows? What’s your favorite part of the tour?
I was invited to attend a special screening of Moana at Walt Disney World in exchange for this post. All opinions are 100% my own. Be sure to follow Raising Whasians for more family travel moments, recipes, crafts and more.
