2015 Epcot Flower & Garden Festival | Best New Gardens #MonkeyKingdomEvent
The 2015 Epcot Flower & Garden Festival is now in full bloom this season. And as a fabulous part of the Monkey Kingdom Event, it was awesome to get more in touch with nature and the beauty that plants and flowers bring to our world. Not having been back since my Sneak Peek in February, I couldn’t wait to see the finished product on some of the newest garden areas! So in my effort to walk around and take in the outdoors, here are some of the best new gardens for 2015 that you have to check out!
1. Pixar Inside Out Emotion Garden
Are you excited for the new Pixar Inside Out Movie coming this Summer? So is Epcot! Be sure to stop by the Pixar Inside Out Emotion Garden close to Imagination! And get in touch with your “plant” feelings.
2. Shakespeare Garden
The romance and the beauty of the new Shakespeare Garden almost makes you forget that you’re standing outside the UK loo. I love the bust of Shakespeare himself in the middle of the flora. And all throughout are quotes with names of plant and flowers from his many works.
3. Pizzeria Garden
A garden so good, you want to eat it! Be sure to check out this hidden treasure over in Italy. Beautiful mini peppers, fresh herbs, and terra cotta pots await you as you plan your next pizza toppings! YUM!
4. Urban Farm Eats
It was amazing to see the finished area for this garden. A chicken coop, an amazing hydroponics set up and lots of really clever gardening ideas sit in Urban Farm Eats as well as my favorite bite of the Festival, the Naan’wich. Hidden towards the front of the World Showcase (by Future World), I left with many great new ideas and inspiration.
5. Botanas Botanico
This is absolutely my favorite new garden to sit awhile. Beautiful lush tropical plants, delicious food like the white corn arepas, and a perfect setting for people watching, I just adore this outdoor oasis located next to Morocco. I hope this garden sticks around for a few years!
6. Japanese Mini Garden
I had to get in touch with my Asian roots in the new Japanese Mini Garden. There’s a 200+ year old Bonsai tree that will take your breath away! The World Showcase Lagoon paints a perfect backdrop to this amazing Bonsai garden. A definite must see for the new 2015 festival.
7. Tour de Fleurs Garden
Now I have to point out this garden, mostly because it is overlooked. The new Tour de Fleurs Garden is on the walkway right outside of Italy. Not only is there a lovely garden setting, but it’s the only garden that has an amazing Miss Piggy topiary smack dab in the center. Pretty accurate to her ego, huh? It’s just a lovely place to stop and smell the flowers and the kids just love seeing one of the most iconic Muppets.
8. Monkey Kingdom Sand Sculpture
Ok, technically NOT a garden, but still amazing…I’m dubbing this my “Monkey Zen Garden.” The Monkey Kingdom Sand Sculpture is located in a little alcove over in the Africa section of the showcase. This was the first time I actually got to watch the sand sculpture being made. And standing there in awe for 15-20 minutes, you really get a good sense of how much this is a treasured work of art. Using real photos from the movie, 3 men were busy carving out the perfect replicas of the monkeys from the newest Disneynature movie. I left in complete awe of this masterpiece, making me even more excited to take my kids to see Monkey Kingdom.
If you’re looking for more amazing nature themed gardens, the Backyard Habitat, Purple Martins, Nature Rocks, and Butterflies on the Go are definitely my go-to gardens to see nature up close. Beautiful Purple Martin birds fly in and out of tall intricate houses. Get ideas to build your own bird sanctuary at Backyard Habitat and be sure to watch the beauty of butterflies taking flight in my favorite Butterfly Garden.
