Cut French Bread into 1 inch thick slices. Arrange in 2 long rows in casserole dish, overlapping slices.
In large bowl combine eggs, creamer, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt. Beat with electric beaters until well blended but not too bubbly. Pour over bread slices to evenly cover all pieces. Spoon egg/milk mixture between slices to cover all bread with mixture. Cover dish with foil and refrigerate overnight about 8 hours

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Combine Nut Topping ingredients in medium bowl. Blend well. Spread over french bread and cover evenly. Bake for 45 minutes or until bread is puffed and lightly golden brown.
Serve warm with syrup if desired (I never see the need for it)
